Room was ok but very odd on 16th floor as felt more like ghost hotel. Service on ground floor restaurant was great but menu limited. Think I would stay in another location next time. Just did not like the feel of the place.

We turned up at the hotel and found out that I did not have a booking for the date we arrived. My mistake, I booked the wrong date. The lovely check in girl, checked availability and we were lucky there was a room. Even better, she gave it to us at the price we booked six months earlier. We were very appreciative of this. Excellent service. The moral of the story, check your booking before jumping on a plane in Melbourne and heading to Singapore.

This was a nice clean hotel, great service, buffett breakfast hit the spot. All in all very good value for money, as my aunty wanted to stay at this hotel, booked well in advance and got an excellent price

King size bed was firm and provided and excellent nights sleep. Wifi internet also worked really well.

Good location, short walk to Orchard Road and Raffles Hotel, where we went on two occasions.
If I paid full price I would have been disappointed.

We stayed at the Royal last January and liked it very much. It was spotless, a peaceful to sleep. The staff is very professional and the location is great.
Only problem is that we would REALLY like to come back next January, but despite many emails I haven´t received any reply.

The hotel is located at the most convenient location just out side Barasbasah MRT station (orange-central line). Even City Hall station is also on 5 min. walking distance. The check in is 1400 hrs and check out is 1200 noon. However, we were allowed to check in by 1100 am and checkout by 1400 hrs... indeed very suitable to us considering our flight timings. We have reserved the room through their own website based on the reference from singapore airlines holiday program. definitely was a great bet. stayed from 22nd to 26th oct. with wife and 5 yrs. old kid. taxi from airport charged us around 19 SGD.. check in was smooth. rooms are bit small and was not having any significant view though was on 11th floor. But, well maintained room. bed was comfortable and king size suitable to accommodate child. Nothing much to say about housekeeping. was done as and when asked. Room service is good. NO Indian food is available in hotel.. however, they do have separate vegetarian restaurant on one of the floors. But, we did not use the same. The breakfast at lobby level restaurant was with good spread; but can be improved further; however, enjoyable. The staff is helpful. Wifi worked smoothly in room; which was complimentary/included in room rate. Highly recommended for travelers who want to explore city on their own. seven eleven shop at MRT station and few other shops/restaurent in nearby area. very close to orchard road, raffles hotel. Lanes and bye lanes outside and heritage/colonial structures of church and singapore art museum outside hotel are worth for night walk..

Room tip: go for rooms on higher floors

On the positive side the hotel is very centrally located. The metro is nearby as is the museum and shopping and the Raffles hotel. But then Singapore is a small place. And nothing is really far off.
The rooms are clean, on the smaller side but OK for Singapore.
The breakfast is very average and could have been better. A hot breakfast but a small selection.
The staff are helpful and efficient.
There is no free wifi and in today's world that is a big drawback. Free wifi is like the complimentary tea maker in the room!
