“Dated but Ilike it !”

Singapore is a very friendly city and the hotel is no different.

From the outside, it is a fairly low rise hotel, a little non descript. I think it has a total of 4 storey's.
The location is excellent, just off Orchard Road. Within a 5 minute walk, you are amongst an abundance of food choices - Singapore is certainly a culinary delight. Shopping Malls are located along Orchard Road.
I noticed a Starbucks within a 5 minute walk and various bars. March is a pleasant time to visit - weaher wise, so enjoyed strolling around the area.

Check in was swift and friendly. It was a business trip but despite this, could not fault the location at all, without a doubt, it would suit business and leisure travelers alike.

I am a smoker and usually, not given the best rooms in a hotel - nor floor. I had the business lounge as part of my room rate, including wi fi and wired internet.
Both worked fine.
The room appeared a little dated, I had 2 double beds, which was fine. Sleep quality was good, ample pillows and all together, the room was a decent size.
The bathroom was equally dated. Shower was in the tub and whilst there were 2 shower heads, the pressure was not fantastic.
Closet space was ok for the short trip.
I had noisy neighbours and since there was an inter-connecting door, put the volume down to that. I am a heavy sleeper, so it did not bother me too much. Certainly no street noise.

I took breakfast in the main area one morning. Staff were friendly and there was a fairly decent spread, but the dining area was cramped and dated. They need to get rid of the carpet and spruce the place up.

The remainder of my mornings and whe I arrived back at the hotel in the evenings, would go to the club lounge.
The club lounge lacks reading materials and is not particularly big.
However, both breakfast and evenings cocktails/snacks are fine.

Overall, I found the staff make this place, in particular those in the club lounge - whom I interracted the most with.
The location is perfect.

I would rate this a full thumbs up but for 2 things :

Bedroom windows are filthy outside. Considering it's a low storey buildining, really no excuse.
The bedrooms - at least the one I was in, needs refurbishing as does the main breakfast area.

Other than those 2 points, thoroughly recommended.

We decided to book the Holiday Inn for our 7 days vacation of Singapore. With 2 children, it was more economical to book a large room with 2 double beds rather than 2 rooms, and the hotel gave us that option.

The hotel is at quite a convenient location, with the Orchard Street Malls at a walking distance. Also close are the Cuppage plaza and Centrepoint where one can find all convenience stores and eating joints. The hotel itself has an Indian Restaurant.

For travel purposes, one can get private buses from Concorde Hotel (just behind) to and from places like Jurong Bird Park, Zoo, Night Safari etc. They are at fixed timings and cheaper than cabs. The MRT station (Somerset) is also very close by to Holiday Inn.

The breakfast in the hotel was quite varied with enough options for vegetarians like us. The hotel room was large, and equipped with everything we would need for a week stay.

The best thing about the hotel was the staff. All the people, including the front desk, concierge, room cleaning staff were very polite and professional.

We used the swimming pool and the jacuzzi on the terrace, and it was great fun especially on sunny days.

Overall, must say that this Holiday Inn was one of the best one I stayed in, and would definitely recommend it for families.

Room Tip: Choose a room very close to the lifts. Our room (702) was very far from the lifts, much more I have...

Weve been to Singapore several times and stayed in 4/5 star hotels. This is the only one weve stayed at twice. In fact we cancelled a top 10 hotel in Singapore to rebook this hotel for the return leg of our trip from New Zealand. It surpassed our expectations and the facilities and service could not be bettered. The staff could not help you enough and the food was excellent.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Executive suite to receive complementary buffet afternoon tea or early evening drinks...

We booked this hotel after the reviews on Tripadvisor. It is very close to orchard road and also to the MRT at Somerset. If you can its better to upgrade your room and also the use of the lounge in the afternoon for drinks and snacks. just make sure to ask for a room up on level 7 and room nos 730 upwards and not facing the freeway.
The buffet breakfast in the hotel is outstanding with heaps of choices. They even have a little section for kids for breakfast, with own bowls, plates and spoons.
Overall a good hotel to stay at when in Singapore.

Outstanding hotel and great location. Rooms large for Asian hotels and this is by far the nicest Holiday property that I have stayed at.

Easy walking distance to shopping mall and subway station.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any room selected
