We were visiting Singapore for the first time as a couple and were stuck in finding affordable accommodation. The lowest we could fins off the internet that also had a somewhat better rating from guests was this one. @US$120 per night, we expected at least 4 star or similar quality. Boy, were we in for a shock!

First, the pros. The location of the hotel is on the Clarke Quay area, which is a god place to stay. The rooms and all areas of the hotel are kept clean and odorless. And that's all there is to it!

And now the cons. The hotel staff were very curt in their replies. Too robotic in their replies. The rooms were so cramped! The TV was probably 14-15"! And the bathroom was so small, it was pitiful! Even the fittings showed signs of neglect. And at this price, we were not offered breakfast!

We stayed there for 2 nights, and coming back to the hotel at the end of the day was not something we looked forward to. We would not be visiting this hotel again.

Stayed at this hotel on my last night. Never again. The hotel room is small and dirty. It has a very small bathroom with a shower. The very funny thing about their bathroom (or not so funny) is that in order to use the commode you will have slide your butt to sit down. This is the only way to do it because the lavatory is in the way. The lavatory is almost to your chin as you are sitting down. This is a smoking room so it is reeked with smoke. The room really stinks. There is a small old fashioned TV with limited channel selections.
Spend a few extra dollars and spend it somewhere else. The Park Hotel next to it is worth the extra bucks you have to pay. I would rather sleep at Changi airport than go back to this hotel.

Room tip: There are non-smoking rooms available but don't bother. Stay somewhere else.

Robertson Quay Hotel

The hotel is well located in Clarke Quay, a very lively place with lots of bars and restaurants.
The hotel has a limited front desk which I imagine could get crowded during peak times for checking in and checking out. The front desk staffs are efficient and helpful. I reserved a standard single but was upgraded to a beautiful double room at the10th floor. There were spare rooms as it was low season, I was told.
The room has two single beds and with lots of space for one person, but could be tight for two people with luggage. The bathroom and shower are spacious enough. The room has a nice panoramic window with a view. Amenities in the room include a hot pot, coffee and tea, flat screen TV, a safe box and mini bar, but no complimentary toiletries except for soap. The room has a wide window sill, useful for holding things, one bedside table set between the beds and a small open closet with hangers. Bedside lamps and light switches are also provided. Power outlet is conveniently located for charging.
The hotel, obviously, has been in service for some time now and wear is showing. But room is well kept except for some stains in the bathroom tile grout. Otherwise, the room is clean and tidy. The bed sheets and towel are clean as well, with good bed and pillows

The breakfast is simple but generous. Served during my stay were fried rice, scrambled eggs, hot dogs, toast, juice, tea and coffee.

Robertson Quay hotel is located right on the Singapore riverside with lots of good restaurants and amenities around, it's a very central location can get to places with just under $10 with cabs. The room is super squishy and not a rectangular shape, and don't hold your breathe until you see the bathroom. It's smaller than my walk in closet. They don't provide a set of standard hotel's bath shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. Hanging on the bathroom wall is a dispenser with green liquid, which I suppose to be shower gel. The room has quite a nice river view and it's quite peaceful. Staffs' service is just matter-of-factly and they don't provide potter service, you have to drag your own luggages. If you plan to be out and about in Singapore, this is a good option for value travellers.

When ever i am in Singapore i choose this hotel as this might have small rooms and washrooms but the Staff there is great, helpful and always smiling. The hotel is located in the happening places of Singapore disco's, pubs, bars, different style cuisine etc.

Just a stone throw away from Clarke MRT from where you can go to Little India just one stop and to China Town just one stop as well.

What else you want a good price a good services and great surroundings.

Room tip: To the river side or the Pool side have nice view.
