“That lovely personal touch”
Reviewed 16 September 2012 via mobile

We arrived at the Regent and were greeted by extremely helpful staff and an opulent reception area. Although the decor is a bit 80s ish the staff and rooms more than make up for this. we were given a lovely suite, which was lovely and spacious. the pool area is lovely and the staff around the pool can't do more for you, supplying you with fruit, water and snacks complimentary. Will definitely be returning

The hotel isn't as fashionable as it was, but almost everything is in great condition and the service just outstanding. The prices are exceptionally reasonable at for the quality the value is terrific.

It's hard not to feel just a little bit conned when the foyer glitters but the carpet up your hall is so worn it is lifting from the floor. But hey, that is redeemed by one of the finest breakfasts I have had in this town (and there have been some!) in this sort of hotel for a very long time. As other commentators have noted here this pub is a bit tired and may well be trading on its name and location - which is very convenient to Orchard Road (though my taxi driver got lost and dropped me off next door). Oh, and you get stung an extra charge for internet usage. Now that is so 90s! (My cheap digs in Vietnam and Nepal gave me high speed wireless for nothing).

great location away from busy Orchard Rd. Able to check in early (9.30am) and late checkout (2pm) as late flight out. Great staff. Deco a little dated now but still very nice. Great Basilico restaurant but quite expensive. Checkout out the mall at the rear of the hotel - great eateries there. Close to Botanical Gardens (Orchid Garden a MUST SEE). Recommend Zoo - easy ride in taxi for $15. Would stay again.

The Regent Hotel is still a nice 5 star hotel but it’s a bit dated. Rooms are ok but once again its a time warp to the 1980’s . Beware that your rate includes breakfast . On a previous stay my rate included breakfast so I made the wrong assumption this visit and was hit with a bill for near $50 . I would have eaten more if I had known.
