Having enjoyed dined here on our previous visit to Singapore in 2015, we decided to have an early lunch here on Thursday 15th November 2018. The place was just a five-minute walk from our hotel nearby.

We opted for nasi padang with chicken rendang, ikan asam pedas, brinjal, tapioca leaves, mixed vegetables, and vegetables fried with prawns. What was apparent this time round was that the flavours, especially the chicken rendang, were less spicy and less authentic than in 2015. The chicken did not seem to have been marinated well enough in the rendang sauce and the flesh seemed white and bland. The ikan asam pedas was mild and the spicy-sour flavour was less pronounced. The meal was less satisfying taste-wise and was a struggle to get through. We began to wonder if there had been a change in the cooks and chefs. The fresh lemon drinks were a pleasant thirst quencher.

Did not know about this place until my friend took us here for lunch. Place is decent and a lot of legit choices. They have beef and chicken rendang which had me drooling for both, but I ordered the beef rendang in the end and I did not regret my choice. Their tempeh is also very good! Price is not that cheap (and not so expensive either) compared to your ordinary Indonesian cuisine but they are worth it.

Only downside is their food is a bit oily, so make sure you balance what you order.

We ate gulai ayam and rice, it is very yummy. The interior of the restaurant is interesting, the red color dominate the interior. During our stayed in Singapore, we never missed our dinner here.

The once mighty warung m.nasir has now dropped to the level of an average food court nasi padang stall. Just pricier

Once they had a love for the food but now it seems that that love affair is gone.

Not sure who does the cooking now.

The sambal goreng is average. so is the bergedil and a few others.

Their much celebrated rendang has now been cut into even smaller pieces than before. And boy are they rock hard. Akin to beef jerky.

a few saving graces. chicken rendang. their braised lung. and also fried chicken good.

however this is then marred by their stinginess in the sambal they will give you.
makes you feel bad to ask for more.
