There seems to be a trend for aging hotels to paint their walls bright colors and reinvent themselves as a funky boutique hotel. The hotel Re felt a bit like that and though not bad, the rooms were really quite basic and small but with bright colors! The location is also quite remote and difficult to find and get to and in a city where getting a taxi can be almost impossible, it is relatively close to the MRT but you have to go along a track and it is difficult to find. On a positive note it is actually quite close to Chinatown and the bathroom was great design and very functional.

Stayed for 3 nights and truly enjoyed the experience. First impression on arrival was the bright and colorful surroundings. Allocated a green room which was my favourite color!

The reception staff were exceptional and provides very efficient checking in and out. Porters were helpful with the baggages and taxis. Restaurant food with good choices and varieties.

Will definitely return back on my next visit here!

Rooms are overcharged, limited tv channels, bedlinens feel very cheap. Bathroom design is poor. No room service to speak of. Front desk's attitude was poor. Can spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed here on a stop over for 4 days and although intially we thought we were in the middle of no where, inactual fact we were just at the back of China Town which gave us great access to the rest of Singapore and to the wonderful People Food Court!

The hotel is very funky retro in design, so not to everyone's taste but is is fresh and different.

The rooms were great, had everything from air-con, all toiletries in the bathroom, satallite TV and complimentary snacks and drinks.

The food in the restaurante leaves litte to be desired but as mentioned above you are only a hop and a skip from the People's Food Court in China Town and can eat like a king for next to nothing.

The Hotel also has a fitness centre, spa and free bus transfer to Orchard Road (shopping street) but ask at Reception as there was no info in the rooms so we didn't find out until it was too late.

All in all a lovely hotel with very comfortable beds and friendly helpful staff. We would definitely stay again!

Booked online for 4 nights on hotel web-site starting from the 3rd of January, 2012. Upon arrival, noted overpowering smell of air freshener in the lobby. Check-in reception allocated us Room 1011, apparently one of their Business Rooms.

Upon entering the room, found false eye-lashes from previous guest in bath-tub...disgusting. Poorly designed bathroom door spontaneously opens outwards. No way to close the door from outside the bathroom. Bathroom fixtures flimsy with exposed pipework.

Bedside lamp faulty, pillows hard and thick, poor TV reception, only 1 pair of slippers and 1 bathrobe for 2 guests. Bathrobe stained and frayed. Curtains have gaps and walls are thin enough to hear neighbors having a shower or talking. Newspaper delivery erratic. Air-conditioning vent vanes pointing directly at the bed and not adjustable. So one either turns the air-con on and freezes or turn it off and bakes.

Check-out staff communicated with male guest only, female guest made to feel invisible even though she was settling the account using her credit card. In summation, this hotel is overrated. It unfortunately makes the short-list as one of the most tackiest hotels I've stayed in. Will try somewhere else when next in Singapore.
