Cebu is known to have the best lechon in the whole Philippines and that is an absolute fact. For those who don't know, lechon is term for Filipino roast pig. Lechon in Cebu City is quite expensive but if you go to Carcar's Public Market, just walk inside you will find several lechon stalls. All of which sell at the same tariffs/prices so you just have to choose which one stall to buy from.

One thing that is unique about Carcar lechon is that it's really juicy. Once you buy they will give you additional lechon fluids (juice). Beside the lechon stalls are some local eateries, you just choose which one to dine in, buy rice and other main dishes and you can eat with lechon as well.

FYI, lechon in Carcar Public Market is more or less 25%-30% cheaper than lechon in Cebu City.

Tips: When you eat lechon make sure to dip it with soy sauce mixed with vinegar and spices to add a super delicious taste.

This doesnt apply to all vendors but when we bought lechon there we were deceived. The one we ordered was swapped with an order filled with bones and really bad parts. We were shocked when we opened our package at home and we couldnt do a thing about it since we were miles away. The vendors were very good con artists, at first they would ask you the part you liked, give you a free taste and make you happy for a while then they were really fast and instead of giving you the part you wanted, you get the reject ones. My god, i really wish these people would reap what they sow... Feeding their children with scammed money and lies. No wonder theyre still lechon vendors. If youre after good lechon, you can buy really good ones in mactan / cebu city without going to this place and risk getting scammed.

Great roast chicken and pork barbecue skewers. Of course, don't leave without having some chicharon and taking some home for good measure.

My friends and I were amazed that the lechon only costs P280 per kilo and the taste was great too. Once you approach the lechon stalls, almost everyone will offer a free taste of the lechon skin that they are selling. Fun experience and lechon is best shared with friends.

We had dinner here with our relatives from Pampanga.. And yes, as always Cebu lechon had caught them. On this market, you can buy 1Kl for 280pesos and its crispy.
