The collections are amazing! From little miniatures unto enormous statues. From small jade figurines unto gigantic wooden ships and carved wood panels of Soeharto's childhood until precidency: this is one museum you have to go! But the handicap would be it's lack of information of museum directory and the access of the top floor are quite limited. But overall it's very good.

This museum is commonly called the Suharto museum, as it was built to house all the gifts he was given when he was president of Indonesia. He was president for 32 years, and during that time he visited and was visited by every leader in the world, and each time lavish gifts were exchanged. I don't know what all the other world leaders do with their gifts, but Suharto put his in this building. It's the most lavish display of stuff I've ever seen, bar none. I'm not sure which is the most impressive item, but the solid jade four poster bed is certainly in the running, as is the thousand piece porcelain dinner service given by Queen Elizabeth. My advice is to start your visit to Taman Mini here, and if there's any time left over, visit the park. This is by far the most interesting place in Jakarta.
