the worst service that i ever had for service apartment. everything are of no standard, prices are way too high for d service n quality. i will not suggest anyone to even give it a try. showers are clogged, no kitchen utensils for service apartment????? i did try to ask and the reason they gave was i have to queue for the utensils due to the high occupancy which makes me wanna laugh. lifts are terrible, usually have to wait for more then 10 mins for the lifts. 2 lifts serving 30++ floors??? and price is +- 150 us$, that's daylight robbery. i can suggest a much better place.

This is one of the best Hotel for family. Service staff and Front desk are very helpful. When breakfast time one of the service staff find for us sit and give my little boy a baby chair. Although the cafe is crowded but he still manage to get for us sit.

I stayed in this hotel for a night,and i can tell you that they have the worst service ever!! these are the reason :
1.we are party of 3 include an infant under 2 years old, yes we paid for the twin bedroom (superior), cause there were no doublebed superior available, hence,the recepsionist gave us a room on the 32nd floor,which is high up,we were okay with that, untill we found out,the room was not yet cleaned,so we have to go back all the way to the lobby from the 32nd fl to change the room, instead of apologizing,they gave us another room which is so high up,down 6 fl only,which is on 27th fl,the concierge had to persuade the receptionist to give us a room thats not so high up knowing we brought an infant,,thankfully we ended up on the
room in 23rd fl. i tell you the receptionist is not so helpfull,rather snob i'd say.

2.after we got to the room,we got a phone call from the receptionist,told us that we left our ID in the front desk,ok so they thought they would kept it safe,but nooooo,we got it wrong,the next morning when we were having a breakfast,we went to the front desk ask for our ID,santi the receptionist said she has clue where our ID was,and said she would look for it,untill the time we were about checking out,there was no follow up on our ID whatsoever,we were the one who have to ask or it over and over again,untill the time we checked out,santi the receptionist couldnt find our freakin ID!!!!she didnt even apologize,and leave the matters to the manager,till now theres no follow up about our ID.....

3. parking fee,shouldnt you get a free parking if u stay at a hotel???,well...... not in this hotel,we have to ask for the stamp of the free parking,if not they wouldnt have had offer us the free parking

the conclusion is,the service is terrible,the receptionist is not helpfull at all,and so passive about everything ,so lack of inniatiative.

i would not return to this hotel,this hotel is not recommended!

Aston Marina has give me a very nice one night stay, I stayed there at 17 - 18 June 2011, the main reason to choose the hotel is its location nearby Ancol, and the rate is not as expensive as the other hotel that located in Ancol, so I choose Aston Marina.

Although it take a long time to check in with the receptionist. I think it is because of crowded Guest, but the process take only a few minute.

The room is large and complete, there are nice couches, nice balcony with sea view (the best view in this hotel), fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, electric thermos, sink, refrigerator, dishes, bowls, spoons, forks, all you need to add is pots and frying pans dah you will be ready to cook.

The bed is soft, clean and comfortable. The bathroom shower is covered by glass quite a nice touch, but the cleanliness need to be increased since I found some black spot in the corner of the shower room.

The swimming pool is also nice, although the water is very cool and there is only 2 swimming pool that is working.

The Cumi-cumi resto serve a very good quality breakfast meals, yummy :), bought some slices cake at the icip icip deli & bakery (sorry I forget is it icip-icip or cicip-cicip?) and it is also very yummy and after 5 pm you will get 50% discount so if you are around aston marina and want some yummy cake don't forget to come here.

Overall I really enjoy staying there and will absolutely use Aston Marina again if I ever need a nice hotel in Ancol.

After reading all the reviews on apartments in Jakarta, we settled for Aston Marina as it had the best reviews and mainly because it was next to the Ancol Theme Park.

We had arranged to be met by the Hotel van at the airport as we had 5 children with us. The journey to the hotel took about 90 minutes. Check-in was painless as they had a room ready for us while waiting for the second apartment to be ready. The single room was pretty nice and spacious. Only problem was it was on a smoking floor so the smell was horrendous. My fault for not asking for a non smoking room. Julia at the front desk was fantastic. She immediately changed my entire family to a non-smoking floor. Throughout our holiday she was always there being helpful and fantastic!

(I would have to say that the hotel staff generally are very helpful and accommodating. Where they can help you, they will. Ask them for places to shop, visit and eat. They are the best source of information.)

The 2 room apartment was equally spacious and the kids enjoyed themselves. However, you could see that the cleaning for both apartments were not done very well as you could spot serious mould around the shower stalls. The stains on the marble flooring could easily be removed with some extra effort on the mops. Apart from that, it was livable.

The pool was a decent sized although it looked as if it had not been cleaned for sometime. Thewater in the "jacuzzi" pool was slightly yellowish. The other pools on the apartment blocks were more regularly cleaned andmore fun for the kids.

Because of the jam in front of the hotel, it can be noisy but quite bearible but I guess this depends on the individual.

The breakfast spread was quite good but becuase they were short handed it took ages to get a cup of tea. Despite it being buffet,tea and coffee was controlled by the staff. They should just leave it at a counter for guests to help themselves.

If you want fast and decent food, head for the small restaurant next to the pool called Bakso Super. After swimming, the kids wanted something immediate and fast. The fried rice was simply delicious.

Everyone recommended Nelayan for dinner but it was actually a Chinese Seafood restaurant. We didn't eat there! Instead we walked back to the hotel after taking a taxi there (Don'twaste your money taxing to Nelayan as it is actually within walking distance-right behind the hotel. My 3 year old made it with ease!) We ended upwalking and having dinner at Lalapan Masakan Sunda which is right behind our hotel at the sports complex. Head out to the main road in front of the hotel and turn right. Just walk on the foot path until you see the Sports Complex. Fantastic Sundanese food.

When visiting places, make sure youask for the opening times as they all open at different times. Dufan opens at 11.00 am while the rest of the parks open earlier (give or take) We only managed to do the Gelanggang Samudrawhich has thedolphins. We were even lucky to be able to have a kiss and hug session with the dolphins. Tip-stay after the show and you may get as lucky as us.

WTC which is near our hotel has many small shops inside but you cannot bargain for the goods as they are mostly fixed prices. ITC is a big mall which many small shops as well where you must bargain. I had looked at a blouse which opened at IDR350,000. I walked away without bargaining and they dropped to IDR150,000-00. Then the games begin!

If you are in Jakarta before the end of July 2011 (not sure of final date) go visit the Jakarta Fair. Pretty cool but it only opens to public from 3.30 pm. Try taking the BBG which is a small motorised 3 wheel cab. Quite an experice.

We didn't travel very far as the traffic was a killer. If you want shopping then maybe this is not the right hotel. It took almost 2 hours from Plaza Indonesia to the hotel. Be ready to leave early and come back late.

Just a note for those who get the boarding pass through the internet. Make sure you pay the airport tax of IDR150,000 or else you will get turned away at the immigration where the queues can be long.
