elegant lobby with a grand piano. amazing service, from the bellman to the counter staff to housekeeping: everyone tries very hard to please every single customer. Well done! Very polite and courteous staff! service with a smile indeed :)

the only trade-off was that the shower tap in the bath was fixed, (it wasn't mobile)-> proved to be difficult for people like me who are used to the 'mobile' type.

hotel location was quite alright, many destinations are within 3km (can take taxi, about RMB 11)-> eg. xinjiekou- shopping district. just ask the bellman and he can give more advice & help you get a cab.
we'll definitely choose this hotel if we come back to nanjing

we booked via this chinese website (not sure about the name), around RMB 400 per night. -> definitely worth it! although the official rating is a 3* hotel (if i'm not wrong), but we believe that the hotel certainly deserves a higher rating! (maybe even a 5*)

I have found the staff at the Jinhui Hotel to be among the most polite and professional.
I am comparing with other major chain hotels in China that almost show contempt to guests in an effort to appear 5 star.

Jinhui Hotel is a little dated in its decor (circa late 1980's to 1990's), but it is spotless and very very comfortable.
Western food is very hard to come by in the restaurant. However if you ask for something the staff (from housekeeping to management) will go out of their way to assist you.

Be prepared to battle the across the language barrier, and frantic sign language in attempt to be understood, as there are few staff who speak even a little English. However considering I am in THEIR country I do not find it a problem given that it is me who should be making the effort.

I give this hotel a rowsing thumbs up!
I WILL be back!
