I've been coming here most visits to Hong Kong for the past 10 years, the restaurant used to be very old fashioned but had a huge revamp a few years back. I have always been a fan of the food so am surprised to see a lot of people say it's greasy etc as I've never experienced that, I've found that in some areas their service isn't as good and don't speak English but other times service is much better and there are English speaking staff. The chilli prawns, sweet and sour pork and dim sum are always good along with the mandarin fish and other dishes, I always like coming here and the pan friend pork buns are some of my favourite.

I try to avoid these types of Canto-style brunch places: huge numbers of tables, staff dressed with earsets and face masks (THAT really helps with restaurant ambience!) and folks scarfing up plates and plates of dumplings and some strange broths what looked like dish water. Typically noisy and typically Sunday brunch. The soup was insipid, the noodles fine, but in a broth that resembled your used bath water. Dishes that were characterized as Shanghainese were Canto-designed. We were in the restaurant at 11:30AM on the condition that we had to pay the bill by 1:00PM. Lovely HK greed overlaid on a mediocre dining experience. Lastly, the AC was so bloody full on that one needed one of those ugly puffa jackets what one sees so often here.

This restaurant has nice decoration, but that's about it. The food and the service are of very poor quality. You will have to pay a lot of money for a bad experience. Don't bother.

Nice atmosphere in a sit-down place in Festival Walk, a good choice if you want a sit-down Chinese place in the shopping plaza.

I think the food was fine overall, but if you wanted excellent versions of certain things (i.e., the Peking duck, or the soup dumplings), you should go to places that specialize in each.

We had a la carte lunch and found the food very greasy, even dim sum. The signature sweet and spicy prawns were a disaster, drenched in batter which we had to fight to take off. Some chili's where floating in it but nothing spicy, only sweet. Some prawns were not fresh.Vegetables tasteless. Service unfriendly and long. Very cold inside.
Never again. Wait till Canton House re-opens....
