I think this place is the best Chinese culinary place for moslem. After you take a pray at 2nd or 3rd floor, get a relaxed with bunch of Chinese halal food at 5th floor. Everything you wants, such as steamed & fried dimsum, rice, noodle, etc with a big portion for two. My favorite is dimsum, its big, delicious, with reasonable price (around HKD 15 for 1 portion). Better here after you visit the Peak. Ride bus no. 23 from St. John Catedral bus stop & get off at 5th bus stop. Walk across the road trough basketball field, cross an alley, walks ahead & you will find Masjid Ammar Mosque at the left side. Or you can use tram around 7 stops from Murray Road stop to Tonnochy Road stop.

The Islamic mosque is conveniently located in Wanchai. All the meat here are halal, which is perfect for my Muslim friend.

The people here are very friendly and the lunch place serves dimsum. Don't expect it to be a really fancy restaurant, it's just a canteen.
But the food is affordable and quite tasty.

The Dimsum is mediocre but the noodles we ordered were good. We ordered the XO Shanghai beef noodle and the XO beef vermicelli. It is so so so spicy though!!! I had to have two drinks to calm my firing lips and tongue!

Not a bad experience though, worth a try.

We went there at 2pm and most of the usual dim sum dishes were gone. The food was average at best, and definitely not life changing. Perhaps I am used to regular dim sum fare, and I guess it’s catering to people on kosher/halal diet. If you are not on a strict diet, I’m sure there are better dim sum in Hong Kong.

We came as early as 930am even though the canteen starts at 10am coz we heard how popular their dim sum is so better be early....haha. How to order? You'll be given a white order list card with empty spaces. Simply present the card to their staffs and they will jot down your order in that card. You can bring the menu to them and point the number on the menu or there is a picture of the food on their wall...so just point to them. They only provide chilli padi in soy sauce for free so if you want chilli sauce, pay $5 hong kong dollar and mind your the chilli sauce not in a packet form like McDonald's, its in a bottle and the staff will pour out a small portion onto a small plate....that's it...5 bucks...a bit of a rip off...haha
