We stayed here last week (5 nights) and found it very convenient. We requested for early check-in (8.30 a.m.), which was accepted by the hotel. We felt that was a great customer service. Rooms were small but very comfortable. Entire property is very neat and clean and very nicely maintained. The best part was its location. It is located at a walking distance from the Mong Kok MTR train station and very near to Nathan Road from where you can easily commute to anywhere in HK. Also, it is just a couple of minutes walk from the busy 'Ladies Market' and shopping areas of Mong Kok. So you can rest assured that you will never get bored. Those who are not keen on local food, there are McDonalds & Pizza Hut within the shopping areas. There was also an Indian Restaurant (Miss India) which we found very convenient (since we were more keen on Indian food). Staff was polite and courteous, language, no issues. There are some minor things that one may miss here (for example, no newspaper in the room, no comb in the shower kit etc.) but overall a great experience.

Room tip: We were informed that all rooms are of the same size, so if the family is big (couple + 2 kids), then one room for the entire family may be congested.

Stayed here en route to China via Shenzhen. Great location, near the East Mong Kok train station (for MTR to LoWu -> Shenzhen), and also close to Mong Kok station on the line through Tsim Sha Tsui to Central. Mong Kok is in some ways a little more relaxed than Tsim Sha Tsui or Central.

The room was small, but very clean and comfortable, and everything worked. Slept well, and breakfast was really good value. Staff were quite helpful. I'd stay there again.

The best part about Stanford Mongkok is the location. Eateries, late night shopping and the metro are all a stone's throw away. The staff were friendly and the place is clean. Like most hotels in Hong Kong, the room is small but nobody come to Hong Kong to stay in the room, right? However the soundproofing can be improved, especially when I can hear other people's conversation whenever they walk along the corridor.

Very clean hotel with exceptional service - Front Office truly good and breakfast also attentive and professional. Rooms quite small but by Hong Kong standards, OK - cleanliness very good so compensates for size. Location fine, near 2 MTR stations and close to a lot of "local" restaurants of good quality and excellent value - genuine eateries, not rip-off joints.

Arrived from South Africa @ the Hong Kong Int Airport at 21:35pm. Tired after a near 20+ hour flight, getting through immigration & collecting luggage, we took the Airport Fast Train to HongKong/Central Station and then the MTR (metro-underground train) to MongKok station. (btw.,purchase an Octopus Card at the Airport, similar to a debit card, for 150HK$ which you can also use on ferries, busses, trams, subway trains MTR, even at some eateries) The HongKong public transport is really so easy and efficient! Disembarking the MTR (MongKok) @ around 23;00pm we exited the station at the famous Nathan Street and turned right in the direction Soy Street and then left into Soy Street itself. Within 5 mins walk of pulling our luggage (on wheels) we entered what looked like a dodgy part of town. Although it seemed dodgy, the streets were bustling with people, small street vendors selling their goods and local foods at that time of night. We never felt unsafe and the streets were all well lit. After the easy walk of around 8-10 mins from the MTR, we reached neat modern facade of The Stanford Hotel. Reception staff were very efficient and friendly...and within another 5 mins we were in our room. Hong Kong hotel rooms are normally pretty small, and these rooms were no exception. However, it was adequate, comfortable and clean and we really had such a good sleep. Bed and pillows (pillows normally suck) were great. Wifi was free (48hour coupons at reception) and worked well on both tablet and smart-phones. The aircon worked well, the beds where large and comfy. The bathroom (shower only) was neat, well equipped and quite modern. Even the foreign/unknown branded flat screen tv worked well. The room had both an electronic safe and a bar-fridge which came in very handy, as well as a large bay type window, which gave an unredeeming view of the area and the greater MongKok. Breakfast (approx 9US$/R85) was really just just adequate...not really great value for money, but adequate. We sometimes smelled tobacco smoke in the hotel passages, but our rooms were well insulated and non smoking rooms which satisfied my fussy nose. We spent 4 nights at the Stanford Hotel, which is well located and close to shopping malls, markets (such as the disappointing Temple Market) and the MTR. It was another great stay in Hong Kong and I would recommend this hotel for those who use their hotel-room as a port of call at night, spending their days sight seeing, touring and looking for those shopping bargains which seems to be getting more and more elusive each time I visit the city of Hong Kong. (The bargains seems to be busy moving to other countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia....) Lastly, as I personally use Tripadvisor as my primary guide when choosing hotels, restaurants, etc., I really wish to thank all those travelers who take the time and effort helping other travelers make good choices by giving honest and accurate reviews. I hope my review is helpful also.....
