“Great location very central”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

Boy is Hong Kong expensive for hotels, we stayed at Sherton Hotel & Towers on Nathan Rd, in a corner room on the 14th floor, facing the harbour. Not as exxie as Intercontinental but gee HK is expensive.

Breakfasts were great at the little restaurant downstairs, and had western breakfasts... my personal taste not taken with the bacon ( crispy and shattered), but some people like that.

Had only three days, saw the Big Buddah ( long trip and the cable car was closed), was it worth it.. yes. The Peak, lots of people get their early AM, we arrived at 10:30. Enjoyed the harbour views the ride across the harbour. We saw the maids day in central HK, with all the maids out socialising.
Absolutely recommend the hotel, bed King size was great had great nights sleep. Loved Moretons Steak House, we had the best best steak I have had in absolutely years, infact I think ever....
Memorable... I would not go for the shopping I thought the prices were more expensive that Aus.

Room Tip: We had a high floor that faced the harbour, but you pay more. We used the metro for travel, it was...

We recently stayed three nights at this centrally located hotel on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. Located on the corner of Nathan Road and Salisbury Road, it is across the street from Victoria Harbour. Our first room faced Nathan Road, and we found the traffic pretty loud even on the twelfth floor. Responding immediately to our concern, the front desk moved us to a harbour facing room. Not only does the room provide a panoramic view of the harbour, it is also larger and the washroom had dual sinks and a separate shower and bathtub. The room has comfortable beds, quite a change from the harder beds in our other hotels during our trip. There is a desk and an ergonomic chair. Having an iron after two weeks on the road was also useful. The lobby area on the second floor is spacious and well appointed with quite a few comfortable chairs. We didn’t bother paying for the Wifi in the room; there are six computers for hotel guests to use near the lobby. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Given the hotel’s close proximity to the harbour, all public transportation (Star Ferry, MTR, bussing), shopping, and dining, you can’t beat the Sheraton for a terrific stay, though you will have to pay more for this reason.

I highly recommend this hotel for its location, service and value.

The hotel is conveniently located in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon amongst a multitude of shops, shopping plazas, designer boutiques stores, cafes and restaurants. It is also within walking distance from the Avenue of Stars and the ferry terminal for the ferry to Hong Kong Island.

The lobby of the hotel is quite grand with sitting areas and unlike Langham Place, is well lit and bright. However, the lobby was always busy and fairly crowded. The lobby seats were always occupied and so I never had a chance to sit on them. The lobby also contains a section with computers that provide complimentary Internet. Wi-fi is also complimentary at the lobby but costs HKD115 for 24 hours in the room. In the evening, there is some entertainment in the lobby (a singer with a guitar).

I booked 2 Deluxe rooms with harbour views (Rooms 516 and 518). Before, and at the time of, checking in, I specifically requested for rooms on a higher floor but they were unable to accommodate that request – I was slightly disappointed but the harbour view was good nonetheless. The rooms were amply sized, clean and supplied with a plethora of amenities including bath robes, slippers and various types of coffee and tea. However, some of the furnishings and furniture such as the coffee/tea cabinet were showing their age. The bathroom was a good size but it was not a stand-up shower.

Customer service was excellent. All my requests including extra teabags, towels and room keys were met with promptly. The four “Guest Services” telephone lines were very convenient to use (it was a one-stop line for all my requests and questions). My calls were also personalised: the operator referred to me by name. What I was particularly impressed with was the late check-out of 2pm, although the reception agent repeatedly emphasised that they would usually charge for a late check-out by the hour. I thought that this was a little stingy of the hotel. Another example of stinginess was the lack of apples on offer adjacent to the lifts for Level 5 guests. I noticed that apples were provided at the higher floors such as Levels 8 and 9. There was a lack of consistency.

I also used the printers at the Business Centre by emailing documents to the Business Centre email. All my documents were printed efficiently and free of charge. I also used the Fitness Centre, which had a range of quality equipment including treadmills with LCD screens (it opens at 5am and closes at 10pm).

i came to the Sheraton for a 4 day seminar and stayed there as well.
Front desk was fast and very friendly besides the hectic in the lobby.
The room itself was clean and spacious. Although the room was close to the elevator the night i couldn't hear anything and had a good night sleep. The bed was however very soft and my back started to hurt after the third night.
The breakfast selection was wide and staff very friendly although it was early morning. The room can be very noisy, so get your breakfast somewhere else if you like it quiet.
Enjoy the view at the Sky lounge on 17th floor if you can grab a seat near the window.
I havent seen an unfriendly or unhappy staff during my whole stay.

I have stayed in this hotel several times – always on a business trip. Consequently the cost was not much of an issue, but I would agree with some of the other writers that the cost is expensive for what you get. While certainly not cheap, there are things to like: The staff was always hospitable and when we stayed last time the view of the fireworks across the bay was simply spectacular. The access to the underground is easy and it is a lot faster to travel to Central via the train. Somehow we usually opted for the ferry, though. The serenity of being on the water and watching the junks float by compensated for the time difference. On the other hand the property could certainly use some upgrading. If you want to do a lot of sightseeing, it may be better to stay on the other side, because most of the tours depart from around Central.
