Our family comprising of 3 adults and 2 children (6 years old and 3 years old) checked into a superior room and deluxe room. The rooms are inter-connected which were what we were looking for. We were very surprised by the spaciousness in both rooms especially the deluxe room as we were told by friends that space is an issue in most of the hotels in Hong Kong. Even the toilets are spacious (however, there was a sour smell lurking in the bathroom which could be caused by the bathroom drapes). Due to high occupancy rate, we were given double beds instead of king size beds but no complaints of the double beds as they are spacious enough to take in a young child and an adult. Overall, the stay in the hotel has been very pleasant except for some drilling sounds heard during the middle of the night and ended around 4am. Staff is very helpful and polite- they always greet you with a smile. The ambience in the hotel is definitely classy. I would rank it 4 and a half star hotel.

It is easy to commute to other shopping malls as the Mongkok- east station is within minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is connected to a big shopping mall where Mongkok-east station is located. Getting to local restaurants from the hotel will take approximately 5-10 minutes (or longer if you have elderly with you). It is such a nice feeling to explore the night markets within the hotel premises especially during weekends. You don't have to worry about taking tram or taxi rides back to the hotel after all the pigging at the night market food stalls- a slow walk back to the hotel is definitely an ideal way of shaking off some calories.

Our family will definitely stay in this hotel when we come back the next round. And we know, it won't be long till then.

This hotel caters to business and tourists alike but has no FREE WIFI , and even when choosing to pay for wifi in the room each device is charged HK$120 per day. For each hour it is HK$40.Having been a regular visitor to Hong Kong I would recommend hotels with better location and free wifi with reasonable prices like the Nathan Hotel. In that hotel wifi is free along with complimentary water, Excellent service and located close to the desirable tsim sha tsui district of Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Go to trip advisor and read reviews. I have always found it helpful

Great hotel, grate location for shopping and seeing the real hong kong street vendors that do not cater for tourists.
We were upgraded to the executive suites - fantastic night. The food was very good, not ilke the chinese food you get in the UK.

Room Tip: The standard room was under £100 (UK) great value for a four star hotel. The upgrade suite was £600 a night.

We stayed here for three nights recently....

Good things:

Access to shopping malls, restaurants, markets and train stations... nice and close to all also nice pool but weird that you have to remove your shoes before entering the pool area and you have to shower before going into the pool area as well, if you intend on swimming. Lobby is well presented.

Bad things:

Staff are very rude in all areas of the hotel
Rooms are freezing in winter so you need to ask for a heater as heating is not on
Beds are hard
Rooms are dated
Food and drinks are expensive - like most hotels
Concierge did not offer any assistance with doors, bags etc despite seeing us struggling to get bags in
House keeping did not do a good job of cleaning the room

We booked an executive room so I am basing my review on executive room only and can't comment on the regular rooms. Royal Plaza hotel for me was a very pleasant stay. We e-mailed them for early check in as our flight arrived in the morning, we got to the hotel even earlier than I expected around 9 am and they took us to the executive floor which has a private check-in plus we were able to relax in the lounge to eat breakfast as soon as we got to the hotel, they also was able to get us an early check in at 10 am. I highly recommend the executive floor even though you pay alittle more, it's worth it because you can eat breakfast at the executive floor or their main restaurant, afternoon tea + snacks and free cocktail hour with snacks, also non alcoholic drinks were free all day long on executive floor. Executive floor is also very quiet and private with a nice lounge area to relax in.
The executive room was very spacious , beds comfortable, the room had all the amenities, the city view was OK. The hotel staff were helpful, attentive and very nice, also spoke good english.
The hotel is attached to mall and mtr which is very convinient. The hotel also has a free shuttle to mtr station + tsim sha tsui every hour which is also very convinient. The ladies market, flower market and the bird market is also nearby the hotel. Overall, there is alot to do around the hotel and it is a very convinient location for us.

Room Tip: I prefer to stay in Kowloon side compared to hong kong island as everything seems abit cheaper and there is just as many things to do on Kowloon side.
