“A towel tale...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

Had 5 nights here, the room I found to be clean & tidy, location ok for getting about Kowloon. Made the fatal mistake of taking a room towel to the beach for the day. When I got back to the room a note was wating for me asking where the towel was, also a phone message to contact housekeeping dept. It felt like I committed a crime. Would I go back there and stay... no. That spoiled my stay there.

Hi everyone.
After a very long flight from New Zealand, we arrived at this hotel. Service was ok but not at all the best. When we arrived at our room, I went back down stairs to ask for another as I had booked a room 'big enough to swing a cat'. This first and then second room, you just couldnt swing! But didnt want to complain to much as it was only for 3 nights before heading off.
The bathroom was in such a state, you couldnt even sit on the loo as the seat was broken and just looked yuck! The shower was not much better and wearing jandles was just not a good look as my husband and I didnt trust what was clean and what wasnt. The bed - wow - a 6 year old couldnt fit in it and it was a double. Breaky in the mornings - go out for breakfast.
The good thing about this place - location. Close to everything including the MTR which takes you everywhere. Food and shopping was just mins away.
Not much more to say, apart from try somewhere else.

Good luck :)

... I think the headline says it all: Everything is in old and poor condition, nevertheless they try to maintain it and have more or less clean.

Hotel is VERY NOISY, you can literally hear every word your neighbour speaks! Bathrooms are small.

Breakfast is around 70 HKD, you will have fresh fruit and in the contrary to other hotels, it is very western oriented (in case you are Chinese, do not expect a great variety of your preverred chinese breakfast styles!) = value for your money its ok, nevertheless, do not compare to your western home breakfast, if you are in china ;-)

And if you like big, bulky and hard sleeping pillows, Ramada Kowloon should be your choice! (I have to admit I like them soft and compressible...)

So there are really not many positive things to say about this hotel, beside it is perfectly situated in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui and the History and Science Museum is just opposite.

Standard Rooms are rather small.
It is recommended to book a superior room category when booking a room on this hotel.
Location is great and practically near to every place.

Room Tip: Book a superior room category since standard rooms are rather small

We stayed here for 4 nights, the second of 3 hotels we stayed at in Hong Kong during a 9 night trip.
Start on a good note - the hotel staff are really friendly and we were incredibly lucky to have a room on the 8th Floor (steps up from the 7th where the lift stops) on the Chatham Road side, subsequenly we had a fantastic view over to Hong Kong Island and that nearly compensated for everything else...
The room was incredibly small, not the smallest I've stayed in (that would be the Strand Palace in London), but it was a pretty close second and it definitely had the smallest bathroom of anywhere I have ever stayed, which, with the door shut felt incredibly suffocating.
The room was clean but old and in dire need of a refurb.
Minor annoyances - shower gels and shampoos are small sachets and you get 3 per couple per day. One is sufficient for one person (just) so you struggle to have more than one shower a day unless you bring your own.
The toilet blocked while we were there, not pleasant but cleared by staff without fuss.
There is no wifi (free or otherwise) in the rooms, but there are a couple of PCs near reception but we didn't use them so I don't know what they were like.
We didn't eat at the hotel.
Security is potentially an issue - there is a small entrance near the lifts that you could use to bypass reception altogether and get up to the rooms if you were that way inclined, but Hong Kong is a really safe city. There was a safe in the room.
Location wise - about a 5 minute walk from one of the many entrances to Tsim Sha Tsi MTR, or alternatively you could go to Hung Hom Station a short walk away over the flyover outside the hotel (which is a lot quieter). Again over the flyover you can get to the promenade overlooking Hong Kong Island, and there are also a couple of supermarkets over that side as well.
All in all, rooms are too small and in dire need of a refurb (and a bit of a bad example of a Ramada for that reason) but friendly and a good location

Room Tip: Ask for 8th Floor over looking Chatham Road, it'll be small but at least you'll have a good...
