“Great Hotel in a Great Location”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

The Mira is well situated in Hongkong's Kowloon District. The shopping is great with many high-end stores and the usual lower-end shops. Restaurants are everywhere including many international cuisine. The night life in nearby Knutsford Steps is just great with many bars, restos, and outdoor dining. Great if you are a smoker like me. Cant get any better than this.

The rooms are well appointed and very modern. Our room even had a cel phone but we didnt use it...probably only because of fear. If a booklet of instructions were with the celphone with easy instructions, we might have used it. Our bathroom even had a separate rain shower. THis was great! Power curtains in the bathroom, mood lighting, ipod dock, free wifi, TV internet with wireless keyboard, and other really great stuff made me feel like a modern techie.

All in all, one great hotel

I totally disagree with the last poster. I have stayed at this hotel several times and never experienced poor food, bad service not once this should be a 5 star hotel 6 if there was.
The spa is incredible u have private steam and suana and jacuzzi for him and her and you have a huge pool. I stayed on the executive level free breakfast every morning and it was excellent. The service was 10 out of 10 speedy check in and out concierge always there to help me with what ever my needs the air con worked fine I could adjust to what ever I wanted be it hot or cold I stayed at many hotels in hk this is the best hands down

Go to Lanson Place in Causeway Bay instead. I'm staying in Mira right now and I have been very irritated no end by the inflexible service. Yes, it's a designer hotel (dark flashy crowded lobby). Modern tech all over the room. But when u stay in high-end hotels (and for the over-priced small rooms, Mira is trying to pretend to be one) service is what truly matters. At every turn I hv been told only sorry; we cannot do anything. Literally nothing. Even when a situation created is their fault! They don't even hv the creativity (or empowerment?) to offer a dissatisfied guest a free drink to mollify them. It's tt silly. Perhaps I shld hv taken heed of the omen when, at check-in, another guest beside us had had to return - all the way from the airport! - to get back his deposit which shld hv been automatically returned to him on
checkout. Oh my goodness.

We booked and paid for the Mira in advance through Globo Tours which is a rerrific company to work with..but once you are traveling they have nothing else to do with your trip. We had paid for the Mira in advance. WE were sadly disappointed. The hotel lobby is like Grand Central station. I love modern decor but this hotel was cold and loud. The dinning room for beakfast was two steps above a cafeteria and the was not good.

Te service was poor and disjointed. We had reserved a king size bed and did get it.The airconditioning was not ajustable. I slept in my clothes and a sweater to keep warm. The ceilings were low and made you feel claustrophobic. The lighing was glaring. We arrived at 5PM and checked out the next morning. This hotel is really second rate...the worst part is the lack of service..there was no home.

Stayed here for one night based on TA reviews. Got a decent price on the Mira hotel website, including breakfast.

Hotel is in a fantastic spot onthecorner of Kimberley and Nathan roads, amongst great shopping and food areas.

The service at this hotel really is above and beyond in every way. Checkin staff superb (great ipad decices for the bill too). Nothing too much trouble.

Hotel is extremely modern (7 million dollar refurb in 2007) and is very trendy. Rooms likewise. Amazing bed, great shower with rainfall shower head, good TV.

When i went out to dinner, they changed my towels, turned down the bed, refilled the complimentary water bottles, and replaced the complimentary fruit that i had eaten. Wow.

Free newspaper inthe morning on the door handle.

The fitness centre and pool are absolutely amazing. Great fitness centre with free weights and cardio - normally a let down in most hotels.

The pool is beautiful - looked very inviting. Staff more than willing to help in any way.

Concierge fantastic, evencoming out and tellingthe taxi driver in Chinese where to go.

Two Michelin starred restaurants on site, and a few bars. I went to Cuisine Cuisine which is Cantonese and 1 michelin star. See separate review onTA - it was fantastic.

I was also contacted by the Sales and Marketing GM, who insisted on having breakfast with me. I thought it a bid weird, but went nonetheless. She was very lovely and chatty and just wanted to see if there was any feedback etc. wow, i have never seen that approach before! They really seem to care.

All in all i truly could not fault the Mira - simply amazing. This is definitely my hotel of choice now in Hong kong.
