Stayed here for my business trip, place is not exactly near to the main nathan road / ladies market area, within walking distance to the nearest Subway Station, but almost every hotel in HK in in walking distance to the Subway station.

Room was normal and feels a bit outdated, bathroom is also outdated. Other than that, the staff is quite friendly and breakfast was also pretty good.

Overall it's a good hotel but would stay other place for holiday.

Dear 3mt1,

Thank you for your detailed review of our hotel. I certainly apologize for the inconveniences you experienced

I was disappointed to read that you had a poor service experience when you stayed at our hotel. I am pleased that our staff was able to off set this displeasure with great service.

Once again, we appreciate you taking the time to share your comments with us. We know you have many choices when it comes to lodging and we hope your future travel plans will continue to include IHG.

Regards,
Brenda J.

There are two Intercontinental hotels in Hong Kong, and this is not the one you should stay at. Located in the heart of Kowloon's top hotel district, this hotel is strictly for the tourist. The rooms are average when compared to most other Intercontinental properties, this includes the newly renovated rooms. Whatever you do, don't let them give you a room with the so-called courtyard view. All you see is a giant concrete wall that is lit in blazing neon at night. There are barely basic facilities for the business traveller. Don't bother dining at the hotel because the standard doesn't nearly match the advertised description. The service is probably the worst I have experienced in a Hong Kong hotel.

Our stay in this hotel was a good one. Of course Hong Kong is an expensive city and dining prices are high, as are hotels, but we were well pleased with the hotel with one exception. The mattress in our room was well past its replacement date - I hate to fall into bed onto a bad mattress. If we had not been so jet lagged, we probably would have asked for a room with a better mattress, but we kept our room for three nights. Other than the bed, the hotel was fine and conveniently located. The breakfast buffet was particularly good! The hotel bar offered sandwich and drink selections throughout the day which is a great benefit for the jet-lagged traveler.

I have used this hotel for many years on business and used to getting personal service with the high level of Intercon card that I hold.

This is changing fast as the hotel is always full and crammed with tourists and the staff cannot cope with this at all.

Rooms are well maintained but its lost its edge and I would not recommend this anymore for business purposes and its expensive for a private trip.

Room Tip: as high up as possible, harbour side preferred.

I spend only one night in grand Stanford hotel and I enjoyed it very much. Rooms very good stuffed and clean and very silent. Hotel is located at water front and a lot of nice places are on walking distance, like promenade of stars.
Very convenient is the hotel shuttle bus which has several stops at famous locations.
