1st time in HK and definitely will not be my last!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 29 Mar 2018via mobile

Please note, all prices are in HK dollars, not US.

WiFi is available throughout HK airport. Gate B at the airport is where you can book transfers via the hotel. Shared coach ride costs $150 pp, takes approx 45 mins. Whilst this is more expensive than the simple express train journey to HK station (Approximately $100) then a free shuttle to the hotel, the few extra dollars was worth the stress of not hauling all my luggage on public transport- I’m on vacation!!

From the hotel back to the airport, we took a taxi, costing $380.

Less than 5 minutes walk to the MTR- nearest station is Fortress hill. 5 stops and less than 15 minutes to Central. The train system is so user friendly and run regularly, until approximately 1am. I cannot recall the price of this journey using your Octopus card however $200 over 3 days is more than sufficient with frequent use. You can also use your Octopus card to pay for other things (eg restaurants, 7/11) and any remaining dollars and the $50 deposit required when initially obtaining a card is refundable at the end of your trip at any MTR station.

There is a 7/11 right next door, KFC, Starbucks & McDonald’s less than 5 mins away and several Chinese bakeries & snack shops around. There’s a mall and a few boutiques within a 5-10 minute radius of the hotel.

OK customer service... always someone on hand who speaks English to help with any enquiries but not many smiling faces.
We had club lounge access which included complementary drinks & canapés 6-10pm.
All was self serve. Basic selection of spirits, white & red wine, beers and soft drinks. Delicious variety of dim sum, crisps, nuts & deserts also.
24 hour gym, basic but with the core equipment. The pool was out of service for 2 weeks which was disappointing as this was a deciding factor when choosing this hotel.

Excellent selection at breakfast. Something for all, including an egg station. Vast choice of Western and Chinese options.
If you have an early flight, a breakfast take out box can be requested.

We had a superior room on the 24th floor, as you can imagine, the views were spectacular.

The room was quite standard sized, with a bathroom only big enough for 1, which did not indicate superior to me, especially in comparison to what you would get in the UK. However from reading other reviews, HK rooms are generally small so this may warrant the description. The shower was in bath but excellent pressure and temperature. The Room contained a mini fridge, kettle and safe. Unfortunately there was no iron however one was provided upon request.
There was no central light source in the ceiling so the room was lit by several lamps which was a bit odd however in the day the natural light beams through the full window (don’t worry, black out curtains included).

You are provided with a complimentary mobile with calls and data included, which is extremely helpful to use when out and about. It can also be used as a hotspot.

Overall, Would highly recommend this hotel.
Close enough to get to some of the main hotspots of HK in 15 minutes without the central price tag. Clean & comfortable. 8/10

The first night we arrived at the hotel, the bathtub drainage was not working. They sent someone to fix it but didn't work. Second person tried to fix it again but I requested to switch room. Hotel is in good location and it has nice size room. Unfortunately, it is dated and dirty. There was no safety bar near the bath tub. Permanent stain on tiles and carpet. Mini Fridge door was greasy and dirty. We found clumps of hair not cleaned for days. Hotel caters for tour groups, cleaning staff hardly have enough time to vacuum the rooms.

Great location for a 48hr whirlwind trip to Hong Kong. Room was clean, staff were efficient and helpful. Fortress Hill metro station is a short 5 -6 min walk away. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The hotel is situated in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the working class residences. Just a stone throw and you can experience the real Hong Kong wet market and the world famous Roasted Duck and egg rolls. Dessert and Shanghai food at it's most authentic stage is just round the corner from the hotel. Transportation is at its most convenience with MTR, buses and Trams within 3 mins walk. A hotel bus takes you directly to the hotel at the central station. It's most convenient.

I stayed here for 3 nights in March. The hotel itself was decent, nothing terribly remarkable. My room on the 5th floor was clean and comfortable. However my view was of a tenement. I also was given a room with two double beds that apparently could not be moved closer than 6" together.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is nice, it is very close to the Fortress Hill subway station, however, there is not much to do in the general vicinity. A cab to Tsim Sha Shui is ~HK$100 and to Wan Chhai ~$45.

One notable thing was the breakfast, they have an excellent buffet.

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel as it is located in close proximity to my parents' house, in an area where there are good transport links. The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and modern. The gym is a bit on the small side though
