The facade is interesting. But once inside, there is nothing special. There is only set menus there and that too was steeply expensive. The ground floor water fall hall was full and we got to be seated on the first floor which doesn't have any views.Having lunch here was a waste of time and money.

Wanted to try authentic Chinese vegetarian food. This place didn't disappoint. It has a lovely ambiance, too.

We were visiting the Chi Lin Nunnery and decided to try the restaurant. It was extremely crowded around 1 pm on a weekday. The cheapest set menu was sold out, so we had a moderately priced set menu. The food was exceptional! Fresh vegetables, flavorful rice and the most silky tofu! The tea was complimentary. The servings are quite generous. Service is quick and efficient. The serving ladies would check-off items on our bill as they brought them out. I count this as the best vegetarian meal I have had in many years.

Visited the Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden with a friend and had lunch here. We both chose the Five Fortune Blessings set lunch and loved it. Various Chinese mushrooms featured on the menu, and the setting behind very large windows with waterfalls running down outside is scenic.

They have a minimum of 120 hk$ per person rule. So the nice afternoon tea is suddenly becoming expensive.
