The hotel location very strategic, transportation also convinient. In the inside, room is small but very clean. 24 hours wi-fi available.

The bad side is, the elevator is very small, only for 6-7 persons inside. Sometime you have to wait a long time to get into the elevator.

One month ago we wanted to change our date of arrival but We didn't manage to change it on the web site (booking.com) so we sent several mails to the guesthouse: no answer.
Finally we called the guesthouse, somebody told us the modification was OK, no need to reconfirm. Fine. But the day we arrived no sign of the modification, the employee looked at his mailbox and admitted he did receive our mail but said he hadn't seen it! Crazy situation. And
unfortunately I didn't take note of the employee's name who "modified" our booking because I trusted him.
So we had to pay an other night, and he even did'nt want to make us a discount for the supplementary night Whereas he was responsible, we had a proof with the mail, it is his job to look at the mails, no?
So be careful and don't trust them. The room was the tiniest room I've ever seen, about 12m2 for 4 people, I'm not joking! We could't stop laughing when we saw that.

This place offers what you need for a short, relatively cheap trip to Hong Kong.
Pro: Excellent location on Nathan road, Clean rooms, friendly staff, free wifi
Con: Very small room, Waste 10 minutes easily every time you take the elevator (but I guess this is the same for all Chunking Mansions), the doors are very thin, so everything you do inside can be heard outside and visa versa. Note that there is often some kind of guard at the guest house's door, who can be a bit noisy at night - therefore: sleeping quality: average.

The four nights that we stayed at the place were not particularly recreative. Hong Kong is an expensive place to stay, so for the beginning of our Southeast Asia trip we decided to save some money.
You basically get what you pay for: A very basic and small room with very small and hard beds. No space to leave your suitcase open, you always have to close it and shove it under the bed. The bathroom is a shower cabin with a toilet seat and a sink in it. The room was very clean and tidy. Unfortunately some cooking smell regularly flooded our room in the evening.
Staff was helpful - we reported a broken soap dispenser in the morning and it was fixed when we returned in the afternoon.
The best thing about the place is the location. Chungking Mansion is perfectly located in the heart of Kowloon, Metro is just across the street. Star Ferry is just a few minutes away by foot. Also, within Chungking Mansion, the Australian Guesthouse has the advantage of being located on the top floor, so the elevator is always vacant. On other floors one can have the problem that the elevator (there is only one) is full already.
Next time I go to Hong Kong I will probably go for a more expensive room where I can at least relax properly.
