Small details can make a difference for the good and the bad.
Overall, the hotel is a good one. Competitive prices, rooms are of good size and nicely decorated and location is excellent. Staff was very friendly although sometimes service was a little bit lazy (we asked for some ice and we were just told to use the small ice cubes in our mini bar).
However, the hotel could improve in some details that easily turn off the guest: (i) when i booked my room directly at the mercer website i was not told that the some areas of the hotel were undergoing renovation (swimming pool, restaurant, lobby, etc). Although the front office quickly upgraded us to a suite as i complained about this, I still think an honest advanced warning is the best policy; (ii) rooms need proper window blinds; the one we had barely covered the entire window and thus we woke up early with the morning sun light; you wont get a satisfied guest if he/she cannot sleep properly (iii) while our bedroom tv set did not have any international channels nor a dvd, the other tv in the kitchen included all these features; for such small rooms i dont see the need for two TV sets but if you insist on this "luxury" i am certain the guest will enjoy it much more while relaxing in bed;More
