We selected this hotel because it conveniently had a metro station in front of its entrance that served the main airport, main train station, and the convention center where our conference was located. We also selected it because it was $100 cheaper per night than the official conference hotel (Chongqing Doubletree) rate, and transport to the convention center was easier and much faster.
The only complaint we could level was that the carpet in our room should have been replaced. Everything else was delightful. The room decor was modern and stylish. The shower had an auxiliary "rain" head and plenty of room.
I asked the manager for a tour of the meeting rooms, as my wife's company produces small conferences, and we go an excellent tour of some excellent facilities. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets were all good value, and breakfast was included in our room rate (and was excellent). Of course in China one has to be able to make do dealing with many who speak no English or only very little English, but when needed, a person with sufficient English would be summoned. This hotel, as well as Chongqing itself, was an unexpected jewel of modern civilization in western China.More
