I arrived at the Greentree Inn without reservation at around 12pm having regularly stayed at their Wuhan hotel and knew it’d be no frills and perfectly fine for one night. The hotel is very close to LiangLuKou metro stop which is also the closest to Chongqing railway station down the hill/long escalator, and Line 3 takes you to both Chongqing North railway station and the airport so it’s super convenient.
I paid 219 RMB for a night bed only as breakfast was extra. A windowless room was 20 RMB cheaper but regardless, even the one with window on the third floor was a bit dark: there just simply weren’t enough lights in the room. As with most Greentree Inns, every available space was made into a room on the floor which meant the corridors were like a maze.
It was a mostly trouble-free stay. Wifi was a bit weird since you needed a code sent to your mobile phone to access the internet and it was a choice of either having that on your phone or your laptop.
Other than that, the hot water in the shower was lukewarm at best both day or night which isn’t great for Chongqing during midwinter.More
