This hostel was a bit difficult to find, but the instructions provided on their website got us there alright. It is located in a bustling hutong with some good inexpensive restaurants around.
The very best thing about this hostel are the friendly and helpful staff – most of whom seem to live there as well. They were very helpful in organizing a trip to the Great Wall and to see a Chinese acrobats show for us, and they booked our train out of Beijing as well. The activities were both amazing and well-priced.
On the day we arrived, the family who runs the hotel invited guests to share in a feast with them in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, for a small fee. This was very nice of them and a great event.
The food they served was good, but we stuck mostly to the noodles and didn’t really try the “Western breakfasts.”
They also have a very adorable orange cat at the hostel.
I have to mention that the hostel does have a slight cockroach problem as I saw a few scurrying around in my dorm room and in the main area. I’m still going to provide a four out of five because everything else was spectacular and perhaps this is a common issue across Beijing hostels… I suggest if you come here to keep a lid on your food!
