It’s certainly a great place to relax in Beijing that I highly recommend. The park is famous for its special kind of bamboos as well as the natural ice rink, where you can rent an ice wagon or slide down the giant ice slide. Sadly the rink only opens in winter.
It is also a wonderful place for Orienteering. The criss-crossing paths through fields and bushing trees are puzzling and easy to get lost. You can always figure out some hidden treasure by walking aimlessly on those paths (I once found a bizarre rock with some Chinese characters written on it). Go and have great fun there with some friends!

A nice park mainly for the locals. With a lake and plenty paved paths. Can see people dancing, singing, playing chess. Also the freshly baked buns from a canteen inside the park are really nice.

Very nice energy about the park, lots of folk dancers and people practicing tai chi. Of course as the name suggests their are plenty of bamboos that help create a pleasant environment. The park is also free entry.

This Park was constructed in 1953, so it is in traditional park design. The landscape is mature and the park features many types of bamboo species. A series of connected lakes and canals. The park is filled with many artists painting landscape scenes, singing, playing instruments and dancing. You can rent a paddle boat, canal boat or ride on a traditional style Chinese boat. The Park was being renovated in several areas which when completed should improve the Park greatly.
