This tucked away restaurant was a good recommendation for authentic Peking Duck! Be prepared for cramped quarters though and a very rustic ambience. Also a good idea to bring cash as not all foreign credit cards are accepted. We ordered duck two ways. The duck was served literally seconds after our order. It was seriously good! A couple can certainly consume one duck two ways but little else! Would definitely go again!!

We arrived early thanks to reviews on Tripadvisor. We were seated promptly, and I noticed that there was only one other party of seeming "non-locals." This seems like the Peking Duck place the locals go to. Great reason to have high hopes.
There is nothing fancy about the place, but we did not come for the decor.
The duck was fantastic, and when one of the hostesses noticed that we were inexpert in "the way" to eat Peking Duck, she came over and offered to give directions. We were happy to get "schooled." She patiently showed and described that we were to take one piece of duck, dip it in the hoisin sauce, and then use it as a paintbrush to coat one half of the pancake, then add the piece, several other pieces, and showed us what to add, how to wrap, and how to use the cucumber as a palate-cleanser.
The duck was rich and fatty, very well cooked.
What a great experience.
When we left, we saw that we were right to come early. There was a huge line all the way out the door.

Definitely worth the try! Long queue after 6pm usually and dining time is 45 min per table/pax. More than enough time, don't worry!

Go for the Chinese wine steamed duck liver instead of the kung pao duck liver. Let the bones be deep fried and dust with salt and pepper. So crunchy that you can eat the whole bone like chips!

Dont forget to complete the meal with beers. Great companion!

Go for their set meal. It's around rmb400++ only inclusive of beers. They have great side dishes too.

Delicious, mouth-watering perfectly roasted duck, hand-carved at your table and served with a complete assortment of vegetables and spices.

My wife and I went here for dinner on the first night of our Beijing visit. It was recommended by our son who spent time in Beijing few years ago. It's off the main road, but the side road you get out of the taxi can be a little tricky. Make sure the hotel concierge gives the address to the driver. It really isn't much to look at from the outside. The inside is very interesting to say the least. It certainly does not look like a "fine" dining room. But the duck is pretty darn good. I assume the price is high for Beijing, but compared to where we are from, seemed like a bargain.

I recommend you have the duck left over after the carving deep fried. They charge you a minimal amount to do this. You will be full from the duck wrap, but have a piece or two of the fried duck. It is delicious.
