A wonderful hotel right in the Maasai Mara park, luxury tents are equipped with everything you could want, and very well run. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Its a larger place which has its pros and cons: the restaurant is large and can feel a bit less personal for example, but being larger means there are more bars, pools, spa, shop etc to use than at smaller lodges.

my mom and I stayed here in Dec 2010 before i was into TripAdvisor, so keep that in mind; i don't know if it has maintained itself. We highly recommend it. it was sometimes uncomfortable when the native Masai would do their traditional dance in the lobby. i thought that aspect was a bit exploitative. also the gift shop is overpriced, as most are.

the food was great and the "tent" was so cool. cozy, yet modern.

enjoy

Dear Guest,
It’s a joy to receive feedback from our guests who have stayed with us even if it is a while back! I would like to assure you that the lodge has been maintained and has improved year on year. We concluded our renovations of the restaurant to a more modern one with a large percentage of the food cooked right in front of you to your specifications. We have added safes and mosquito nets in all the rooms. Currently the lodge is fully wifi enabled and you can now browse from your tent sending pictures back home. We are also fully covered by a strong mobile telephone provider and you can now use your roaming telephone while in the comfort of your tent. These and many other developments ensure that your stay is comfortable and refreshing.
I have noted your concerns on the Maasai dancing at the lobby, in our efforts to partner with the community and being part of the community we employ from the locality. The Masai dancing every other evening are members of the staff who are show casing their culture to encourage guests to have more interest in learning about the people who leave around the Masai Mara game Reserve. Every Saturday we invite the local women folk who do their bead work come to the lodge and display their various art works for guests to admire and purchase. Ole Tira our naturalist is from the surrounding community and holds lectures on request for guests on the history and culture of the Maasai.
I would like to welcome you once again to the Mara and Sarova Mara Game camp to share this wonderful experience of the Masai people and their home the Masai Mara.

We all bid you Tijing’ou (welcome in Maa!)

Warm Regards,
Francis Msengeti, Lodge Manager Sarova Mara Game Camp

Beautiful grounds, great food, friendly staff, good service and the accommodations are the best. Our only disappointment was that the pool closed at 7pm and since we were on safari in the day, it was in the evening after dinner we would have liked to go for a swim. Other than that it was fantastic. We were told the tent experience was the best and we were not disappointed.

Stayed here for my 40th with family and friends and what a great experience.

Great oasis in the Masi Mara as you drive through the front gates and the camp is only a short drive. Service is fantastic from the time you arrive. Very resort style camp with pool and grounds. Can have massages and facials when not on the drives. We had our own driver so we just paid a package through a travel agent and they sorted the accommodation.

During our stay I had a surprise birthday organised by family and friends where we had dinner with out own private chef and waiter and also the local masi did a performance for us. It was set out in the camp separate for anyone else...AMAZING!!!!

Can be a bit daunting choosing a camp but this one does not disappoint if it fits your budget.

Room Tip: There are some rooms located quite a walk from the main eating lodge so if your lazy then get one close...

The Sarova Mara game camp is very nice and pretty much the best accommodation you can get if you are going to Kenya for safaris. The tents are very nicely done, location is ideal. The food was not fantastic but I guess it depends what you're comparing it with. For Kenya, this was the best place where we stayed. If you compare it with 5 star accommodation in Europe or the US, it's not quite at the same level. Hint: we had a couple of lizards on the wall in the bathroom - if you have issues with that, try to mentally prepare yourself for it :)
