Ngong hills is quite an incredible experience. About an hour's drive from Nairobi CBD (this was on a Saturday morning, not the usual traffic madness!), you really feel you are getting out. It's essentially a pleasant stroll up and down seven or so "knuckles", a nice way to start the weekend!

I have lived close to Ngong Hills for almost 4 decades. I always bring visitors there especially if they are time limited. It is a shame that the wind turbines block so much of the view on one face though the power station's generation capacity had increased to 25.5 megawatts. Definately worth a visit. I go up 5 - 6 times a year. This tripadvisor lacks the ability to note multiple visits. between 2001-2009 there was a lot of mugging but the police and game park staff have stopped that and it is now safe again.

Ngong hills is just breathtaking. I live nearby, so i go there for exercise thrice a week. It helps clear one's mind. It's a good place for picnics, a quiet place for reading a book. There are times the wind is too much. The beauty is the wind cools one off because the heat is also in great measure.
It is also a great place for photo-shoots

The Ngong hills offer the closest hike from Nairobi city center. You get very good views of Nairobi city, the Rift valley and pass by the Ngong with farm and telecom masts. 100% worth your day!
