Al Moudira is a beautiful remote hotel. The swimming pool in the middle of the garden is an amazing place to rest during the hot hours of the middle of the day.
The room we had was huge and so stylish.

We were almost the only customers during our stay, which was a bit weird because the staff had too much attention on us. But they were very nice about preparing breakfast boxes when we left early in the morning to avoid the heat.

The landlord is a very nice and attentive lady, she was helpful in setting up a car and guide when we needed.

Most reviews refer to the beautiful rooms in this hotel, all different but massive and beautifully decorated. The hotel looks as if it has been there for a hundred years, but this is an illusion created by the talented owner. The facilities are all up to date and the staff are amazing, friendly and professional; nothing is too much trouble. The swimming pool is very good too, and the food in the restaurant is first class, a limited menu choice but all dishes are delicious. The hotel is also very good value; not cheap but at the price just about unbeatable for the experience and ambience.

The hotel is a short distance outside Luxor, on a terrible road so it take a while to get to town! The hotel can organise (pretty cheap) taxis into Luxor, or to the ferry to get across (shortest and cheapest way to get to the East Bank (Karnack, Luxor Temple, museums). They can also organise guided tours of these sights and also the Valley of the Kings and other historic places on the West Bank. Their preferred guide is Safi (Ahmed) who is quite brilliant.

Room tip: All good - some luxury suites have private outside space but all rooms have access to plenty of spaces to sit undisturbed.

What a spectacular hotel! Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The courtyards and fountains and pool were all charming and unique. Breakfast was especially delicious and dinner in the elegant dining room was truly a treat. Service was unobtrusive and professional. We had no hassles from anyone. It was expensive though, so we could only afford one night, but it was without a doubt our best night in Egypt! More people would come to Egypt if there were more placed like this!

I had reserved the restaurant for 40 friends for Lunch on 29 Jan. Ms. Zenia and the entire staff were super cooperative. They looked after all the special diet requests of some of the members of our group. They had a special vegetarian menu for us. The entire group enjoyed the food as well as the ambience. One of most enjoyable afternoons that we had in Egypt.

Do plan to have your lunch here when you visit the Valley of Kings. You will not regret it.
