Having been amazed at Steigenberger service in El Gouna, I was disappointed at Luxor. Check-in took too long and the Reception guy was a little arrogant. At breakfast waiters were too intrusive, eg talking too much to single females and insisting on carrying your plate for you.
We booked a suite but only got a superior double room with an extra foldaway bed. The price for the room was excellent however so we didn't mind really.
It's a beautiful location right on a peaceful part of the Nile and with the main areas of town in walking distance or a short cab ride away. We used the hotel excursions service to book a hot air balloon ride this was an excellent trip done by safety conscious professionals. On request we negotiated a free late check out with a different man on Reception who was much more professional in approach. All the staff need to be following his lead!
I would go back to this hotel and overall had a wonderful time.More
