DO NOT BOOK TOURS OF THE OWNER
Last thing a traveller wants to do is write negative review about their experience but I am so upset with the service and treatment I received.
-We paid $224 US to visit 4 monuments that had entrance fees averaging $5 but we booked through nassir as he ensured us that it included private transfers and a guided tour at all monuments
-the day also consisted of been taken to vendors that tried to sell us numerous items we felt so awkward so we offered to purchase a magnet only to be told it was $80 (someone obviously made a cut on any sales)

-Once we got to Luxor temple the guide took us to a mosque instead where you could see the entrance of the temple via thick gated fences once we left he said he paid the mosque for us to enter so if we wanted to go into the temple we had to purchase our own tickets
-we purchased our own tickets and didn’t receive a guided tour and was left to find our own way back to the hotel
-when we told the owner what the tour guide had done, he accused us of lying. He told us that the tour guide and ticket sales men both came to the hotel and said he purchased the tickets and showed them to me (even though I had my own tickets in my wallet) and we returned solo
-We were only provided private transfers to the valley of the kings which is 20 minutes away. We travelled the rest via public routes which we could of done on our own.

Being scammed and total lack of customer service ruined our experience in Luxor. His arrogant and unapologetic attitude made the stay extremely uncomfortable especially since there was no one else in the hotel. I hope no one else experiences what we did. This is unacceptable as we travelled so far and was looking forward to learn about the history of Luxor.

Buy tickets directly from the sites and book transfers of other hotels or taxis. The Hilton which is a 5 star hotel offers transfers at such a low cost compared to what we paid. And they would of received better service

Also wifi, flush and air conditioning doesn’t work properly

Again, we decided to stay where we would help the local economy, and Nassir's hotel was an excellent choice. Although it doesn't have a lift, the staff are only too willing to lug our bags to the room. Our room was directly under the rooftop terrace where breakfast and other meals are served. The bed is firm and comfortable without sage, the bathroom works, there is hot water available when you want it and a little fridge in the room too. Nassir arranged the transfer from the airport, and this was the day of the great duststorm. Poor Ahmed, the driver, waited patiently for us to arrive for over 12 hours, showing great committment. As an aside, give Egyptair a miss and get the overnight train. I think you'll be a lot happier.
All the staff at the hotel, Mohammed, Mahmoud, Abdel and Walit (inc Nassir and Ahmed of course), attended to us with great courtesy and without obvious expectations of tips (which they deserved and received). Indeed, Nassir organised a special dinner at no charge for us. This was a surprise and we felt greatly falttered.
The only fly in the ointment had nothing to do with the hotel, but the guide Tahib, that was organised. He altered our desired schedule and excluded most of which we wanted to see, saying that his alternative was better.
It wasn't. Do not even think of going to Hatshepsut's temple much after 7:00am as it is as hot as hell. At 11:00am when we arrived it was 47 in the shade if you could find any. The tour guide was the only disappointment in Luxor.
All in all, if you don't stay at the Cleopatra, then you're missing out on a great experience.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Cleopatra Hotel a few weeks ago. The whole stuff was really nice and helpful. They can help you in anything that you need. The room had everything that we needed. The breakfast was really good. The location is great, in the west bank of the Nile.

I really enjoyed staying in the hotel. People were so kind and helpful. Special thanks to the owner Nassir and the cook Mahmood. The breakfast is great and the restaurant serves tasty dinner with good price. They also tried to give me the beer that I requested :) The only downside is the bathroom. It would be nice to be cleaned a bit more. But overall it's great deal for the price. I'm happy with that
