Owner description: Next to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, this is the second-largest of the Giza pyramids; Khafre was the son of Khufu.

Khafre’s Pyramid is younger than Kuhufu’s but looks taller because of it’s placement on a higher platform. It is unique in the sense that it still retains the smooth limestone casing at the top. Just imagine how great the spectacle would be if all the three Pyramids retained their original smooth white casings!

Here you can see how the limestone outer covering has worn away. The blocks are smaller, but it does dominate the space.

The inside of the pyramid is closed but still there is an area just above the entrance where you can have some shade and escape from the "guides". The best looking pyramid.

Most tourists do not hang around the pyramids by them selves. We did! It was awesome!
Khafre is a beauty! Also, on one side of the pyramid there is a tall stone wall and there are caves inside there as well. No entrance of course but it was a nice suprise and very interesting!
This whole area is worth studying and exploring on Your own also. Don't always need a guide to repeat you the mainstream history. Feel the place on Your own and think with Your own head. The place is much more than just tombs.
Very interesting visit! Totally recommend!
