Okay so the Hotel could do with a little bit of an upgrade in certain areas. The rooms it could be argued are a little bit dated and the towels whilst clean have certainly seen better days. However, if you can get over these little gripes I have to say the Hotel vastly exceeded my expectations. The Hotel appears to be very busy with high guest occupancy. Despite this the Hotel is spotless and very clean. The location is the best. It is very central and literally staggering distance from all the shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. It is also helpfully just steps away from the Underground system and airport bus stop. There is obviously some noise in the evening from the local bars and clubs but nothing I considered too unreasonable. Itaewon is a happening place with many night time options depending on your taste. The area is busy most days but obviously it really comes alive at the weekends with many locals and foreigners enjoying the night life. As for the room rate I found this to be pretty reasonable. Certainly if I was paying 5* prices I might be a little bit more critical but overall I found the Hotel to be very good value. Would I stay again? The answer to that is most definitely yes.

Stayed here earlier this week for a business trip. Not much to say. Very average, a little rundown, but adequate. Had no problem with noise and the location was great. Right in the middle of Seoul. There were plenty of taxies available and a subway stop right in front of the hotel. Very close to USAG Yongsan if you have access to the base.

Hamilton hotel is located in the heart of Itaewon. This has good and bad sides. The good thing is that everything in Itaewon is in walking distance. The downside is the noise. The nightlife in Itaewon is very much alive.

The staff speaks english and are very helpful. There are many places you can eat nearby and most of the nearby places are European cuisine which is good for those who don't like Korean food. Itaewon also has Korean restaurants, but a lot of them are hidden well.

Right outside of the hotel is the entrance to the subway which is very convenient.

Room tip: Rooms facing the back street are noisy.

The room we stayed in looked really old, small and dated. Most of the pictures I have seem online do not accurately represent the room we stayed in. This being said, the room was still clean and comfortable (although they could definitely splurge on new towels and shower curtains!!). The location could not be any better. The shuttle to the airport stops right in front of the hotel. There is a lot of cool shops and restaurant right on this hotel's doorstep.

Do not stay here if you intend to sleep! And if you intend to party, stay somewhere cheaper! At ₩170,000 a night we expected slightly better than decent, and on arrival we were quite impressed with the fancy lobby and suited bell boys. We were given a room on the 9th floor which was a bit grubby and dingy, and despite being non- smoking, stank of smoke, but thought about all the facilities on offer and decided to stay.
We went to find the pool only to discover it is only open in the summer. We tried to play miniature golf, but that too was closed. We went for a drink in the bar on the ground floor. ₩6000 (about £3) for a diet coke!
We went for dinner in the Indian restaurant on the fifth floor, which was very good, but quite expensive.
We returned to our room to find the air conditioning that we had set before we went out was not working and the room was stifling hot. We tried to get to sleep, but regardless of the various window shutters, the noise from the clubs below could not be drowned out. This reached a crescendo at about 1am, when we could bear it no longer and checked out, demanded a refund ( which we were very reluctantly given as the manager on duty stated we should have known it would be that noisy and what did we expect from Itaewon?), jumped in a taxi and stayed in a love motel in Gangnam, which was cheaper, cleaner and quieter.
The Hamilton was only marginally cheaper than some of the other big hotels in Seoul, but it seems to think it is on a par with them when it is not. We will never stay there again, and next time will pay the extra ₩50,000 for the Lotte Hotel!

Room tip: If you must stay there, get a room as high as possible and away from the road. The clubs continue late into the night.
