“Very nice hotel - Would stay again”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

My wife and I recently stayed at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and we were not disappointed. The hotel was very clean, the staff were genuinely friendly and the room was very nice.

As soon as they saw us arrive, the staff came running (outside) to help us with our bags. And when we arrived in the lobby with our bags to checkout, 2 staff members also came to help us with our bags.

The hotel was right beside the subway (Samseong Station ) which was very convenient as it was raining when we arrived.

This was our 1st of 6 intercontinental hotels on this trip and it ranks near the top for us.

We would certainly stay again at this property.

Room Tip: We we booked (Online) we asked for a "High Floor, King Bed, High Floor and Non Smoking". W...

The hotel is a central destination for the up and coming Seoulites, especially in the southern kangnam region. Buffet restaurants are like a national pastime and the restaurant in the basement (also serves breakfast) is a hard to book destination on weekends.

Having said that, this hotel also serves an eclectic mix of foreigners sporting tumi laptop briefcases here to service Korean MNCs as well as a local clientele who can purchase memberships at the health club spa. The spa has a full Korean/Japanese style sauna with what seems like a hundred stalls to shave, wash, etc., as well as wet/dry saunas. The exercise equipment is heavily used and dated, none of the latest life fitness or technogym stuff here.

The club intercontinental is heavily used, almost too heavy in terms of traffic, hard to find "quiet nooks" to read and eat in the mornings or evenings. The club is basically 100% foreigner since the hotel guests are almost all foreigners.

An interesting mix, perhaps the best way to make money in a hotel (rooms for foreigners, and F&B for the local community)?

an overnight on way to Australia, used the CALT bus and walked across the courtyard.
Upgraded to a junior suite, which as large and comfortable. A smooth as silk experience, as always. Friendly staff with excellent English.
A walk to Bongeunsa before turning in only took about 30 mins all in
Great breakfast, followed by emigrating at CALT, a day in seoul, and bus back to ICN about 5 pm- after picking up our hand baggage. Excellent all round

It is a nice hotel connected to a shopping mall and close to our office there. The rooms are a bit old but overall good. Most important that staff can speak English and this is not something you can find at every hotel in S. Korea

I stayed for the weekend.
It was my first stay at this hotel. I knew this hotel had a very convenient location close by COEX, department store, and a subway station. I expected the room and service would be very good like other 5 star hotels.
But when I saw the duvet cover and sheets on the bed, I was very disappointed and surprised.
There were some hair and stains found on both outside and inside of the duvet cover. I called the front desk and complained about it so they sent someone who came and changed the sheets.
There was also hair under the sheets as well.
The most shocking thing was that there were also hair and stains on the new cover and sheets~!! The staff and I saw it together. He apologized and made an excuse by saying that this is a problem with the outsourcing company. I told him that it is the hotel’s responsibility to check and inspect before checking in a guest to the room. He asked if I wanted the sheets to be changed AGAIN but I told him it’s not necessary since I couldn’t trust on the new sheets being clean after all.
I think the cleanliness of the bed is the most important thing and basic value of the hotel. They need to be more careful monitoring not only their own service, but also the outsourcing service.
If I stay here again, I wish I can sleep on a clean bed like my home.
