The Standard Hotel is a clean, tidy hotel with good amenities for a city hotel, a very helpful and accommodating staff and a subway station right outside. I wanted to give this hotel 4/5 stars because it wasn't perfect, but the general manager and other employees were so helpful to me every day of my stay that they more than earned the 5th star.

The pros:

_ Phenomenally helpful staff! Every morning, once I had plotted out where my girlfriend and I wanted to go that day, the general manager would take me to the computer, figure out the best way to get to our destinations by subway and print out maps for us. This allowed us to easily travel around Seoul because the city has a well-organized subway system that functions just about flawlessly. Most of the staff spoke very good English.
_ Cheap laundry! The lobby area has two washing machines and two dryers, plus laundry detergent pods, dryer sheets, baskets and bags. Washing costs 4,000 won ($4), and drying is free. The instructions on the machines are written in Korean, but the reception staff can show you what to do. (It's easy, so you'll only need to be instructed one time.)
_ Terrific WiFi! The WiFi was what you'd expect from a hotel in Seoul and was free.
_ Decent size. The room wasn't big, but it also wasn't small. It was a good size for an Asian hotel room.

A few cons:

_ Breakfast. Breakfast wasn't included, it was $7. But it was worth the $7.
_ Air conditioning. The A/C didn't work during our stay, but they gave us a fan. It was March and was cold outside so we were comfortable in our room with the window ajar and the fan on or with the window closed and the fan on.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel. I'd stay here again. Our stay was very comfortable and the staff did its best to help us with everything we needed.

TIP: Taxi drivers from Seoul Station seemed to have trouble finding the hotel, even when we had the name and address of the hotel printed out in Korean for them. If you have cellphone access, call the hotel and let the receptionist explain the location to the driver.

TIP: The hotel's lobby is on the second floor, not on the ground floor. You can take a long staircase up to the second floor or can enter through coffee shop on the ground floor and take an elevator up to the second floor. I think the coffee shop closes around 11 or 11:30 p.m.

TIP: Consider packing fewer clothes and doing laundry one day. It's cheap and fast. You'll need 4,000 won in 1,000-won notes for the washer, and the dryer is free. Detergent pods, dryer sheets and bags for your clothes are free. The washers and dryers are available 24/7 but don't get much use, so don't worry about putting your clothes in at night and picking them up in the morning.

TIP: There's an awesome fried-chicken restaurant, KyoChon, across the street. You must eat there! The original flavor (soy sauce- and garlic-infused) is out of this world, as are the potato wedges, which are crispy on the outside and as fluffy as clouds on the inside. Try the salad with blueberry dressing, too. The restaurant closes at 11 p.m., and the last order is at 10:45 p.m.

TIP: Take advantage of the fact the hotel is next to a subway entrance/exit for the Deungchon station on the 9 line. The subway system is a great way to get around Seoul, and it's affordable and easy to use. The machines that sell tickets have clear English instructions: Pick your destination, insert your money (there are cash change machines nearby usually), get your ticket and go. Signs for approaching trains will say what the next stop is so you'll know if you're going in the right direction. Watch out for express trains, which might skip your stop. When you leave the subway system, remember to put your ticket into one of the machines that refunds 500 won. Take a cellphone photo of a subway map: That's easier to handle than a big folding map.

TIP: The hotel is at a really busy intersection, and it can take 5 minutes or more just to cross the street because you have to cross in two places with traffic lights. As a shortcut, you can use the subway system: Enter at Exit 8 (right in front of the hotel), go down the escalator, follow directions to Exit 1 and come up at Exit 1. You'll be across the street, half a block from the KyoChon fried-chicken restaurant. (I'm pretty sure I have those exit numbers right, but ask the hotel staff or check a subway map. It's very easy.)

TIP: The best way to get to Incheon Airport if you have luggage is by taxi, which costs about 40,000 or 45,000 won (about $40) and takes about 35-40 minutes if there's no traffic. The hotel can arrange for a taxi to pick you up whenever you want. Make sure you ask about traffic conditions around the time you're scheduled to leave because traffic can get bad.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to avoid noise from the busy intersection out front.

Located right near the metro station makes this hotel very accessible. The hotel is very clean and modern with a coffee cafe downstairs. The beds and pillows are super comfortable with a huge tv. Phone chargers are provided in the room which is extremely convenient. The ceiling is high making the room feel large.
The best part of the hotel however is the bathroom. The bathroom is large and toothbrushes, mouth wash, and disposable towel and a hair comb are provided. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area as there is nothing I could think about to complain. Also, checkout is at 12 for the people like me who like to sleep in

Standard Hotel is located directly above Deungchon station, Exit 8. There is an escalator at exit 8 so there is no problem with heavy luggages. From Incheon airport, we took 6003 and it reached Deungchon middle school. We walked about 10mins to the right of the bus station. The hotel is prominent enough to be seen. Enter to the lobby level 2 through the Coffesmith cafe's lift.

We booked the standard 2 single beds room and the room view was opened to concrete building next door. They gave one card key but I've asked for another. There was no fuss and there was no additional charge to me. Space of the room was also good and we had plenty of space to navigate around the room even after opening our two luggages. We found the beds of the room to be really good. For a traveller, a good night's rest is important and the beds met our criteria. The amenities, water and coffee were replenished daily. Also the variety of amenities was substantial. Room cleanliness was not fantastic. Despite being a new hotel, we found some stains and peeling here and there. Imagine if the hotel was in establishment for another 2 years...

Service was not bad. The staff can understand English well enough but speak slowly... As the location was good, we had no trouble navigating our way through different parts of Seoul. There are plenty of convenience stores and food was aplenty in the area. In fact we discovered a jokbal specialty restaurant next to the hotel and a beansprout specialty restaurant about a street down. For the price we paid and the experience of this hotel, I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are lower levels with view of concrete wall of next building. If you want a good view, pay more for a higher level room.

This hotel is located near Gimpo International Airport. If you catch Line No. 9, it will take about 15 to 20 minutes to Deungchon station. Line No. 9 operates both express and normal trains. The express train skips several stations so arrives a destination faster than normal. Take express one at Gimpo Airport, go only one station to Gayang, transfer to normal train without extracharge or long walk, get on the normal one and just second station is Deungchon. It’s OK to take a normal train from Airport to Deungchon, it’ll be take about 17 minutes. The entrance of hotel is between Exit 7 and 8 of the subway station.
Anyone can catch Line No. 9 at Gimpo International Airport subway station via Airport Line from Inchon International Airport. A single transferable system at Gimpo. Access to this hotel is even good to strangers.
The first floor is a CoffeeSmith shop, and the lobby is the second floor. If you have a heavy luggage, please go out via Exit 7 of subway station, go through an alley, and you can find the lobby elevator next door to entrance of parking lot.
I stayed two nights at Deluxe in late September. Every Deluxe Room seems to be located at the end of the corridor, so the bathtub is at the side of the road. Don’t worry, it provides perfect privacy with a window shade and protects the loud traffic noise from the outside.
It is a business hotel, so amenities and facilities are very well appointed. One of my favorites is equipped cables those are adaptive any kinds of mobile devices. My colleagues said their Standard Room has same equipment.

Room Tip: Do not expect excellent breakfast.
