This cost only USD $ 1 which will take you around for 2 hours around the local villages.

You get to witness how the locals live their normal daily lifestyle. You can see huge baskets of vegetables, bicycle, furniture - cabinet, food stock, working class people,.. all using this train to commute from one point to another to do business, to sell their stuff.

when the train comes to a stop, everybody is busy moving everywhere to make sure they get everything on / off the train before the train continues its journey. You can even see people handing over huge vegetable baskets, huge sack of food stocks ..all through the window alone.

some are even passing baby from one to another.

You wont be surprise to see if they are using the train to move house.

some will come yelling out to sell food in the train - in case you are hungry and don't mind trying it out.

a ride worth the journey and just observe how the locals do it !

Loved it. Sat and just watched life happen and pass by. Friendly locals. A good way if you have the time to get your bearings in Yangon. Along the line, the locals hop on and off as they go about their everyday life. Not air-conditioned but still pleasant and would recommend it.

I was told this was free so I gave it a try, but it goes on forever. I am not happy to waste a long time on this train. The hygiene was not good enough, with locals on the train vomiting over the sides. I did enjoy the scenery as we went along, but I would much prefer to walk next time, or at least hire a Tuktuk. This Circular Train makes you feel as though you are in a Zoo.

This is a very interesting trip that should be tried by all visiting Yangon. Rickety, dusty, dirty and that it does provide a fascinating view of life around Yangon. We got off the train where there was a substantial market where we managed to get some refreshment and were the source of inquisitive looks but then we were looking inquisitively at them too!

The train is old and slow, and actually the ride is not particularly comfortable. Don't ever expect to see beautiful landscape during the ride, instead, you see farms, garbage and poor people's houses. However, during the ride, we met friendly local people who smiled and shared their food with us. We saw vendors and even markets on train platforms!

The 3-hour ride cost only 300 kyat per passenger (in early May 2014, and only kyat is accepted since April 2014). Go to platform 6/7 of Yangon Central Station and you'll find the ticket office. The staff did not check my passport when I purchased the ticket.
