Quarantaine

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Sept 2020via mobile
After travelling back from The Netherlands to Yangon i had to do the mandatory quarantine. I stayed at Sedona for almost 3 weeks. The room was nice ans spacious, the food was good and too much and the service was excellent. The staff was 24/7 available for your needs and always friendly and respectfully. Ofcourse a quarantine is not fun at all but they really did their best to make is as comfortable as possible. Very thankful to all the staff of Sedona...

I stayed here quite by accident when I had to undergo quarantine upon arrival. At that time, the kindness of the staff and the excellence of the food (which was delivered for all 3 meals each day) captured my fancy. I also had a view of the gardens and pool area, which I could only look at, longingly, during my quarantine. Upon leaving at the end of the quarantine, the manager offered an invitation to come back and use the pool any time. We finally made it back to the Sedona late in the afternoon, and it was SO worth it. The pool is probably the best in Yangon. The lush foliage all around the pool area is gorgeous. As dusk fell, a worker lit the tiki torches and turned on the tree lights. Nature decided to join in with a sunset rainbow overhead. It was awesome! The whole place is spotless, the rooms are good sized, mattresses are excellent. It's just a very nice place, and when family and friends come to visit I will not hesitate to book them into the Sedona. It is so well located as well, just across the road from Inya Lake, and one of the best shopping malls in the city, not to mention Harry's Bar, and plenty of good food. A+ review from me!

We stayed in Sedona during our last few months in Yangon - April to mid Aug 2020 (and it was also during the height of the Covid-19 situation inclusive of the lockdown period). We were supposed to fly out of Yangon by end March 2020 but due to Covid, we were unable to leave Yangon and what we thought was going to be a 2-3 week stay in Sedona became 4.5 months! And I can 100% say that choosing to stay as a family (2 adults and 2 boys, ages 10 & 13) in Sedona during that period was one of the best decisions we have made!

The room was clean, the service was fast & efficient, the location is excellent, and all the meals we had during our stay were all very good and reasonably priced. However, what made the total experience really something we would treasure were the people behind the Sedona Yangon name -- everyone from the hotel service staff (kitchen, reception, housekeeping, lobby) to the Management team were all very genuine in ensuring you get the best experience possible. In fact, because we stayed there for 4.5 months, we ended up becoming friends with all of them and I can sincerely say that my family would miss Sedona and all the friends we have made there. We had some family milestones there (ie my husband's birthday) and they arranged for a surprise which was really thoughtful. My kids were doing remote learning during April to June and whatever material they needed for school projects (ie food weighing scale, boards, sticks, cartons, etc), the hotel happily helped find the materials for the kids’ projects. The pool lifeguards were also very professional and were very alert especially if there were kids in the pool. The hotel team was aware of what my kids liked and they would do little things to on and off surprise my kids. In fact, my children were on a first name basis with the staff which really made my kids feel like they have friends in the hotel.

On the day we left Yangon, the staff and Management team saw us off which was extremely a thoughtful and kind gesture. We even received farewell tokens (a book on Myanmar and 4 travel neck pillows) which was completely unexpected.

Truly, our stay in Sedona is one of the highlights in our Myanmar experience. We were very well taken cared of and more importantly, we have found friends. There will definitely be no other place for us to stay during our next trip to Yangon! We look forward to that comforting feeling of ‘home’ and seeing friends who have become like family.

THANK YOU Henry, Simon, Albert, Nina, Khine, Aung Soe, Li Peng, Jeff, Chef Leung! Thank you as well to Yadana, Tom, Lily, Thura, Raymond, Nay Win (my son calls him Nine One!), Shin Thet, Dalie, May Kyaw, Shwe Yee, Tin Zar Lin, Candice, Yaya, etc, etc! We look forward to seeing you all when we visit Yangon next time! All the best and more power to Sedona Yangon!

Overall good experience with the hotel. Service staff are polite and resolves issues quickly. Thorough planning in handling crisis situations, and keeping the hotel guests and staff safe. Appreciate the excellent service in terms of rotating food menus during lockdown situations. Hotel premises are generally well-maintained, and in good sanitary conditions. Good view of the Inya Lake.

The Sedona in Myanmar is an excellent choice, across the road is Myanmar Plaza with shopping, bars, restaurants, the 3 or 4 restaurants offer a range of choice.
Sedona would have one of the best hotel gyms I've seen, great swimming pool and fantastic staff.
Recommended.

The hotel has several food options - Italian, Japanese, Chinese and International - available. Ate at the Italian restaurant ORZO and also had buffet dinner at D'Cuisine, which was the same restaurant for breakfast. The buffet spread for both morning and dinner was good. There were live stations and a good variety of food choices - Continental and Oriental.

There is a shopping mall - Myanmar Plaza, right opposite the hotel. Shops include international retail brands, eateries, a supermarket, cafe and bakery, salons. It is connected to an office tower, so both the locals and tourists go there. Just be cautious as you try to cross the busy road!

The hotel was huge and was undergoing some refurbishment for the rooms in phases. I stayed at two different rooms and the slightly dated room was still comfortable and clean, while the other had a view of the Inya Lake which was really beautiful in the morning.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a lake or pool view
