The food, the staff and the location were fantastic! Such a magical place with the lagoon at your doorstep for great snorkelling. Just a five minute boat ride from the main island of Efate and yet you feel miles away... The calm lagoon is great for snorkelling, paddling and kayaking. The staff were friendly and attentive. The boat to the main island was readily available when we needed it and always skippered by friendly drivers. Thanks to the team for organising our earlier boat ride and transport to the airport. We highly recommend Erakor Island Resort and will definitely return!

The time spend on Erakor Island needed to happen, I was over worked and pressure of everyday things...I needed to decompress and relax.... From the moment i walk on the island there was slower pace which had a sense of relaxation....
The island itself being a pure sand island, is just majestic in it's sunsets over the water from my ocean view room. I swam in the lagoon, had a couple of massage at the day spa.
Food was excellent and the hot complementary breakfast was fresh and healthy. Which i liked. Staff were amazing and fun.. I loved the break away. Check out Erakor. It's worth a look. Happy travels x

Room tip: Both Ocean view and lagoon view rooms more have spa. On the water views are beautiful with your private beach.

We were in Vila with cruise ship and didn't want to do any of the local tours (been to Vanuatu before). Instead we decided to spend our day at one of the local resorts. We chose Erakor to do something different. Taxi from cruise ship to the boat ramp, then the Erakor boat takes you over to the island (short ride, couple of minutes). The cost is 1000 vatu each but you then get this as credit to spend on the food and drink on Erakor. Very simple island which has bar and restaurant but no pool or other resort amenities. This is an island for people who want a basic standard (think Gilligan's island). It is very quiet and in fact was almost deserted. You can snorkle immediately in front of the beach and can see a good range of sea life (huge number of starfish). We had a nice lunch, couple of overpriced cocktails and relaxed under the umbrellas in between snorkelling. A very relaxing day.

This was our third holiday on Erakor, … and why ever would we change???
The island is beautiful, so beautiful. Following pathways through natural vegetation and beside coral beaches is relaxing and therapeutic. And the surrounding lagoon ranges in colour from blues and citrus-greens to preternatural turquoises. [It is too easy to take too many photographs!]
The perfect time for walking around Erakor must be sunrise. Just before breakfast! Each morning we would customarily settle into our chairs, a few metres above the water, and enjoy delicious local fruit and a beautiful selection of breakfasts – we usually ordered banana fritters. We ate, we relaxed and we watched exotic sea-creatures: banded kraits, moray eels, lion fishes and clown fishes, a small octopus, large shoals of small fishes that moved as an integral inkblot-like mass, … and of course, multitudes of brightly coloured starfishes.
As well, we love the gentle, caring and loving people whom we have come to love, like Roseanne, Annie, Lita and Donald.
Whenever we wanted a bit of noise, chaos, exoticism and the thrill of a local bus-ride, Downtown Vila was easily accessible.

Even if you don't book a waterfront room, you are still very close to the water. From the minute we were met at the airport we were treated like royalty. Our waterfront bungalow was very peaceful and relaxing. Sitting in my private deck spa watching sunset sipping on a cocktail was amazing

Room tip: All rooms are very close to the water...our waterfront bungalow was very peaceful and relaxing.
