We stayed across the lagoon at the Warwick Le Lagon resort in Nov12 for a week but took the free ferry across to Erakor Island on most days to enjoy the wonderful food and cocktails at Erakor Isle restaurant, which is located on the waters edge adjacent to white sand plam studded beautiful beaches. We had a large variety of dishes from ravioli, scallop and prawn skwewer starter, mousaka special one night. Service was very friendly, relaxed and very attentive.

We thoroughly enjoyed each time we visited the island and highly recommend this gem.

We spent four nights at Erakor with our three kids (7, 8 & 10). Everything from the delicious welcome drink to our boat trip to the next accomodation was perfect. The water is great for snorkelling and kayaking, which is free if you are staying at the resort. There is a playground and huge trampoline for the kids when they need a break from playing in the water. We were there for their movie and dinner night, which was great fun. Was a bit disappointed we weren't there for the fire dancers which apparently are there on a Thursday night. The other two dinners were cooked to perfection for me, chicken in some coconut sauce? and the beef was so tender.

The Activities people who looked after the kids (Gilbert - we love you! and Jessica) didn't just look after them but joined in the fun! They also had couple of activites each day, which we will take advantage of the next time we are there.

The rooms are excellent. We were upgraded to a 'house' with 6 beds, so had plenty of space and TV/Fox. One thing I noticed was they had a clothes airer in our room - so simple and so much needed, why doesn't every hotel/motel have one, especially in the tropics?

The only thing that the kids (not me) complained about was the star fish - but then they are wusses and couldn't get the hang of snorkelling, maybe they'll get over it when they are older.

Room tip: Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are closest to the beach where you can keep an eye on the kids from your balcony. Not that you need to it's so safe!

We spent 9 nights at the beautiful Erakor Island. Travelling with 2 kids (5 & 3) we arrived after a great flight from Sydney to the smiling faces of the Erakor staff and clean blue waters. Our room was small ( we were only able to book into the standard villa) but as we didn't need to spend much time in the room, thanks to the dry weather, it was ample and it was clean with comfy beds. If I had to fault it the shower was a bit hot & cold but we were having such a lovely time we overlooked it! The island itself is small but we loved that as it meant it was so safe for the kids! They loved the new play equipment and the huge trampoline ( thank you to Jessica from the guest relations team for endless entertainment ) and because there was no drop off at the beach it was either shallow or only hip height for metres all day long. Not great for actual swimming but for snorkelling and for general starfish spotting it was great! I agree that you need booties but if you don't have your own the sports hut have some you can borrow along with snorkels / fins, goggles etc. the free kayaks were fun and there were sail boats if you knew what you were doing. The sports team also cleaned the beach every morning of leaves and dead coral making it spotless. (Thanks Paul & all the team). Kids loved the movie night, the Melanesian feast was fun with the band and fire dancers and although we found the prices of food just like Sydney the Aqua restaurant on the island was some of the nicest food we had. We used the local babysitter - thank you Marree ( & Kelly her daughter) for keeping the kids occupied whilst we had some couple time and again to Jessica for showing us her home and let the boys play soccer with the local kids. The restaurant staff were super friendly and very attentive. Also thank you to Allie who drove the ferry and fishing boat & and all the drivers for making the trip over to the main land so easy. Would definitely recommend the resort to families who don't need the mod cons ( although there was free Internet to check your email and stay in touch with the real world) or a pool.

We chose Erakor for our Wedding in late Oct 2012. We stayed for 14 nights with or 18mth old daughter. I can't fault the place. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Waterfront Spa Villa (free upgrade) and it was amazing. No air con but didn't miss it. We had a flash looking tv and we didn't even turn it on once in the 14 days. Bathroom facilities great. Bed was comfy but it was a wooden frame and it sounded as though if was going to collapse when you rolled over (bit awkward for honeymooners) lol ... Spa was great. Housekeepers were great, a nice touch when they folded my daughters blankets in her cot and put her teddies to bed :) Grounds were well kept and raked everyday. The tours desk can arrange all tours for you. Ferry was accessible 24/7 however when departing at 4am the ferry operator left us on the boat and walked off with no explanation, we were running late for our airport transfers :/
Swimming on the lagoon was great, didn't need a pool. Lots of fun activities for families. Restaurant was nice, although sometimes you didn't get what was stated on the menu.. It might say comes with raspberry coulis but it comes with choc topping. Breakfast was the same each day. A good variety. Cooked eggs each day, fried, poached, scrambled. Tyrone the exec chef was good and our wedding reception menu was fantastic. Everything wedding wise was exceptional the set up etc.
Villa 10 Spa Villa, was mid way down the island, newly renovated and positioned perfectly, just far enough away from restaurant etc but not too far down the island. Would definitely go back. It was a great wedding/holiday.

When you arrive at Erakor you are welcomed by the friendly staff, who encourage you to relax and embrace 'Island time'. And it works!
We spent 7 nights on the island with around 20 of our guests for our wedding. The wedding day itself was wonderful and very special, words can't describe how happy we were and that we chose Erakor for our special day.
Erakor is a very well-kept and picturesque island. The accomodation is nice and caters to everything we needed.
Snorkeling is also good, we travelled to Santo for our honeymoon and I would say the snorkeling is a lot better at Erakor.
The staff are really what makes this place special, each and everyone has a smile and will always say hello as you pass by. It's really refreshing to stay in a place with such genuine and nice people.
There was always something to do on the island, we did the Melanesian night which was a lot of fun. We found a lot of our time was spent on the island as it was a quite haven away from Port Villa, but still just a short ferry ride to town if you wanted to go to dinner.
Being back in Sydney, I already miss the smiling faces of Erakor and we hope to return one day very soon.

Room tip: Try a room towards the end of the Island, a lot quieter for couples.
