Right from our collection at the Airport by Robert we could not have wished for a better time at Eratap. The staff were all friendly and attentive, without being obtrusive. Our Villa was absolutely wonderful with all facilities one could need. We found the food excellent as to choice, variety, quality and the size of serves. The acivities, from the reef walk, snorkelling, trips to Castaway Island, the village visit and culture descriptions were varied and informative. We did not want for something to do during our 8 day visit.
A trip arond Efate with a car and driver arranged by the Resort was another highlight.
Thanks are due to Tony and Louisa and their wonderful staff for a memorable experience at Eratap.
We unreservedly reccommend time at Eratap Resort to anybody thinking of going to Vanuatu.

We chose Eratap for our honeymoon and we were so glad we did! Amazing resort with everything you want available. We did venture out on a couple of days to see more of Vanuatu, but could have easily stayed at the resort all week without leaving. Staff were super friendly and the food was amazing quality. We took advantage of the free boat ride to Castaway Island and had the place to ourselves to explore and snorkel. We even spotted a clown fish!

Our villa was gorgeous and we couldn't image needing anything more.

When we told locals we were staying at Eratap they would comment "it's so far away (from Vila)" - but really, what is a 20 minute drive when you get to stay in complete isolation with a surf beach and lagoon for you to chose from?

We would not stay anywhere else. Worth the money!

How often is a hotel / resort experience much much much better than you expected? How often is a place more beautiful than the photographs on its website? Well this was certainly one of those times.
The Eratap website featues beautiful pictures and created high expectations, which were exceeded by the real thing. Our romantic, relaxing 7 night holiday at Eratap was, in a word, perfect.

Everyone who works at Eratap from the owner through to the housekeeping, room service, restaurant, front desk, spa staff and driver was smiling, incredibly helpful, polite and friendly - oh so happy to help and deliver whatever we wanted. We spent most of our time in our Villa area as we booked one of the Honeymoon Villas with our own pool and little beach and it was just beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. Room service is inlcuded in the price and it is no problem to have food or drink delivered to your villa, or to the pool, or to your cabana by the beach whenever you like. That is a lovely luxury for sure. For my birthday dinner the staff set up a beautiful 'champagne dinner' (also included in our package) in our gazebo by the lagoon. Another extra included in the package we chose was a 1 hour couples massage, which was blissful.

The Villas themselves are beautiful inside and out ... really well set up, and the attention to detail is impressive, from the weaving of material for the roof complete with little designs at the point where each of the beams are lashed together, to the furnishing, finishing and fixture choices, to the beautiful wooden doors and blinds. We so loved having our own refreshing pool, which was deeper and larger than we thought it would be. The outdoor shower was blissful and the indoor shower just right, the huge bathtub was luxurious, the villa was light and airy, there is even a/c in the bedroom though the fans were sufficient for us, you've got plenty of lounge chairs, the bed was soooooo comfortable and the grounds feel safe and secure with nighttime security on watch (not that it is particularly unsafe! don't get me wrong. i just thought that was an added measure worth mentioning.) I also loved how our villa was separated by foliage and fencing - so private.

The main pool is gorgeous and the grounds are very very well kept, including the beach areas which are swept and raked. There is equipment for guests to use, free of charge, including snorkeling equpiment, kayaks and a boat in which the staff will take you out for a ride or to go snorkeling - again included in the price you pay to stay here. There is a large dvd library and books too, all complimentary. The spa area is beautiful and serene and the attendants were just lovely.

Also complimentary is a daily ride in to Port Vila and back. We went in one day and did a bit of shopping. Next time we'll spend more time in town, but on this trip we were all about relaxing at Eratap so other than that we had a pleasant couple of hours wandering around and shopping in Port Vila - which was a happy and bustling town with a few restaurants we'd like to try out, I can't comment too much.

The restaurant / main building at Eratap is beautiful and a lovely place to spend some time eating, having a few cocktails or checking your email (though we stayed unconnected the whole time we were there). Wonderfully, a hot breakfast is included, not just a continential breakfast. We definitely loved that.

There is a good sized menu and excellent wine selection, with nightly specials and lots to choose from. They are only too happy to make you whatever you want from the menu even if it's from the lunch menu at dinner time. One mild critique I would make is that the food could have been better. It was pretty good but not great and I guess, with everything else being so amazing, it was the one part of it all that was not absolutely amazing. Nonetheless we ate a ton haha. So it certainly wasn't bad.

I hate to give even a mildly negative comment, as our whole stay was just wondrous, the staff and owner are generous, accomodating and only want you to enjoy every second of your stay and we would certainly recommend Eratap and we want to go back!! There was no difficulty, aggravation or intrusion ... it was all about peacefulness, helpfulness, beauty and positivity. We certainly had everything we needed and then some. It was difficult to leave!! Our vacation pictures are beautiful, we returned home tanned and relaxed and very happy.

Nothing that hasn't already been said about Eratap. It's a beautiful resort in a idealic location with very friendly, helpful staff who will look after your every need. If it's peace and quiet your after then this is the place. We spent most of our time laying in our cabana by the beach, eating wonderful food and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. You can do as much or as little as you like. We went kyaking to the local islands and around the lagoons a fantastic experience, and easy enough for novice kyakers like us. The road in is not as bad as some people say, but if you are after night life and easy accesability to town then this is probably not the place for you. We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing 2 weeks at Eratap and would recommend it to any one looking to get away from it all for a while.
