What a fun little museum! The setting of the museum is absolutely beautiful! You can see Monserrate from here. All of the rooms are open to outside air. And we loved the art.

Botero’s art is very unique. The fat models and paintings are very characteristic. The museum is free and you can see many other artists work.

Thoroughly enjoyed this museum which brings together a wide collection of Bolteros, modern art, cubism, and impressionists and post impressionists. Easy to spend 2 to 3 hours here enjoying the interesting works in this well curated museum.

This is a treasure trove of a museum.

Free access for close up engagement with varied world- class art and sculpture.

Breathtaking location with pretty courtyard and without any pretension.

It surprises....

100% worth it.

El Museo de Botero, Casa de Moneda y Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia situated in La Candelaria district are connected. This gave me the opportunity to get from one museum to another seamlessly (no admission fees). The Botero museum is quite beautiful with a lovely landscaped courtyard. The paintings and sculptures are absolutely amazing which have this larger than life feel. The Casa de Moneda has 2 floors displaying coins and machinery depicting how coins were minted (dating back to 1600’s. As you stroll by you could appreciate how nation’s coins and banknotes evolved. The machines Unfortunately pictures are not allowed. Also, be sure to get a free commemorative coin when you leave.
