We went for a day trip to the capital of the Emirates.
Really big, really rich, very arabic, but to be honest we were not impressed as we came from Dubai and seen many times Al-Qsar, Madina a Salam Hotel, the Zouk and 4 seasons to mention some of alike buildings.
It is true that it is extremely big.
We had lunch in the Italian restaurant at the back of the building looking into the sea, sheltered by the shade of the hotel. The food was not outstanding, very regular and so was the service.
I have no doubts that as a guest you have a completely different experience-pools etc- but as a visitor, we ticked the box and that was it.
It was full with visitors, tourists and I bet residents.
Incredible that they have a theatre inside the hotel...that was a surprise.
On and on, it is definitely part of the day trip to AD.

We went just to have this 'gold plated' ice cream and we were stumped not just by the ice cream but mainly by the grandeur of this place. Wide lobbies, tall ceilings, massive pillars, gold plating everywhere, toilets as clean as new, extreme cleanliness, internal palm trees and lounge chairs that you dont feel like getting off from are some of the things you experience in the palace. The ice cream is made of camel milk and is served in silver cutlery. It is absolutely delicious.
There are several fountains outside the palace, enough to cool your kids down in the heat. Make sure you carry spare clothes for them. The sheer sense of space is enough to calm you down. A must visit when in Abu Dhabi

If you not staying at the hotel, you must go and visit it. It was built to show the opulence, the wealth of the arab world, and they did it. Starting an amazing parking lot full with the most beautiful and exotic super and hypercars you’ll ever see( a delight for the car lovers). On the inside everything feels so rich and well thought, beautiful.

When I first visited this place I was in complete awe of the stunning architecture and art within the palace.

Must try the camel milk macchiato, with or without gold leaf.

Emirate Palace is a hotel but it is also a great tourist destination. Great place for pictures and coffee. If you are around on a Friday, check out their brunch. It's great.
