Owner description: This holy stone is the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, the ancient stone building towards which all Muslims pray. Many Muslims believe that the stone (originally white but now black from absorbing the sins of man) fell from heaven during the time of Adam and Eve.

I came to Masjidil Haram for umrah during my college time. One day at Dhuha time, I saw not much crowd gathering around the black stone and I saw my opportunity to get there without having to fight each other. Although it was just for a second, I was so happy because I could kiss the black stone.

i really can't describe the feeling you get when you see Kaaba. it's the most visited place by Muslims. the atmosphere is great you meet people from all over the world and you feel highly spirited. must visit. great place to spend time and make Ummrah or just go there for prayers and meditation...

The queues are monopolised by men who have no qualms performing sins (by hurting other people) just to perform a sunnah. I don't know why the police don't organise the queue and use iron fist to control the unruly crowd.

Anyway in my view the way the crowd behave shows what is wrong with our ummah - we got our priorities wrong.

While making tawaf of holy kaaba it is obligatory to kiss this black stone or hijre aswad or touch it with hand or a stick and kiss the hand or stick. If that is not possible just istalam with one hand and pass. It is said that this stone came from jannah and was white in colour but with passage of time became black because of the sins of the people.
