Owner description: This holy stone is the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, the ancient stone building towards which all Muslims pray. Many Muslims believe that the stone (originally white but now black from absorbing the sins of man) fell from heaven during the time of Adam and Eve.

While making tawaf of holy kaaba it is obligatory to kiss this black stone or hijre aswad or touch it with hand or a stick and kiss the hand or stick. If that is not possible just istalam with one hand and pass. It is said that this stone came from jannah and was white in colour but with passage of time became black because of the sins of the people.

People go crazy. Pushing fighting etc to touch the stone. This isn't a fard nor a sunnah. There are even sisters fighting in the middle with hijab being pulled off. Subhan'Allah be patient and insha'Allah you can touch it and get the intercession on yamul Qiyaama. But don't harm people along the way.

It is a journey of a lifetime. As a Muslim, it is one of the 5 pillars of Islam so it is a journey that I have been looking forward to all my life. It became even more important because at the age of 44 I have been to many countries of the world and many times to Dubai, UAE but not Saudi Arabia.

The chance finally came after so many failed attempts.

It was a very fulfilling experience and I feel fulfilled and I thank Allah for giving me the opportunity to observe the Hajj and also to everyone who contributed in one way or the other towards my Hajj experience.

Black stone or Hajrul aswad is a cornerstone situated in the Kaaba which is the starting point of the Tawaf (anti clockwise circumnavigation of the Kaaba). It has a significant history in Islam. During the Hajj or Umra, a person is expected to go round the Kaaba seven times each round begins at the Hajrul Aswad. You are expected to kiss it if possible or touch it with your hand and kiss your hand and if that is not possible, point at it but no kissing of your hand. You then say the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) before proceeding to do the Tawaf. You repeat same at the beginning of each round. After the seventh round you repeat the same process of kissing and Takbir before exiting.

It is always difficult to get to kiss or touch the Hajrul Aswad during Hajj or at the peak times of Umra so one should simply observe the third option of pointing and saying the Takbir.
