The mountain has its history associated with Huzoor SAW, if you plan to climb it, make sure they are early hours of morning and late in the evening to avoid scorching heat.
Carry sufficient amount of water in your back pack. Take regular breaks and climb up..

In this holy mountain and in the holy cave the The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SW) was given prophecy and Islam started. However, visitors should not climb up the top because it is not mandatory and it is risky.

Islam started from a cave on the top of Jabal al noor. According to Islamic religion, prophet Mohammed used to spend months in this cave alone and one day the angle Jibreel came to him and that was the beginning of Islam.
I visited this place a couple of times.
Saudi Government need to improve the quality of the stairs and should try to make this place a tourist attraction with high class facilities.

trip of life time, you need to be heart healthy. Climbing up is not easy, but remember slow and steady wins.

You can reach this mountain by getting a taxi.
I climbed this mountain and I was alone.
It took from me 2 hours to reach the top of this mountain .
There number of stations in the way up , where you can have a rest and buy cold water .
You can clearly see the place where the prophet ( PBUH ) and his companion Abubaker are said to hide from those who were following them .

This is a mountain where the prophet used to go for sanctuary and prayer, and here is where the archangel Gabriel first contacted him and informwd him that he was choosen to be a prophet. The place is high and you have to walk more than 1000 bad made steps to reach up there. With no facilities around. And when you reach up it is a nice view, but the cave at which the prophet used to be is really crowded that you will not be able to get in making all your effort goes in vein. There are also many piggers. The place should be maintained better than that.

It is a very difficult climb, but its all worth it. Only the able bodied people can try and not the aged ones.

This mountain is the place where first Revelation took place hence called Jabal Al Noor (Light). After that the Islam started & spread all over the world.
Difficult to climb, hence went up to some height only.

One of the holy places for me as a Muslim. Difficult to climb but if you want you can do it slowly with patience.
