Nice little place tucked in the middle of Citadel area. The place has a lot of historical items for you to catch up if you want to take break from all the walking in the Citadel area.

The day we went was very cold and windy. So, we took refuge in the museum and it was nice and cozy for a while. Everyone also got a good chance to catch up on Citadel history over various time periods.

If you are anyways planning to visit Citadel, I highly recommend visiting this museum as well.

Spent a wonderful 45 minutes or so in this great little museum while on Citadel Hill. Small is actually only in size...the museum was packed with some great archeological finds in a country so rich with culture. Great exhibits from pre-historic times to the 15th century. My personal favourites were the Ain Ghazal Statues, believed to be the oldest statues representing the human form. Well worth a visit.

There are so many ancient ruins in Amman and this small museum holds artifacts to help tell the story. A must visit site.

You can find archeological findings since over a million year til today in this tiny little museum... it is so dense and the most important piece is for sure Taki's head.

The museum does not look big from outside so I was expecting few items to see. And yes it is not big, but it is packed with items. Some quite interesting. Specially the clay sarcophagus were impressive. Oh and a big collection of oil lamps, from clay to bronze. (my favorite). Worth visiting for sure.
