I've been to Moses Jerusalem now about 4 times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The desserts are okay and the sides are nothing to write home about, but the burgers, now that's another story. Worth visiting just for the ambiance and good old fashion high quality beef burgers. Onions rings are delicious as well.

Their hamburgers are very good.So were the fries and health salad and fresh graperfruit juice.. I was told that lentil soup was spicy. The staff was attentive and cared that we enjoyed our food. They have a reasonably priced business lunch. I would go here again. Located just across the street from the supreme court building, a 5 minute walk from the central bus station. Kosher.

"Moses" is an Israeli chain of meat restaurants that recently opened a new kosher branch in Cinema City in Jerusalem. Cinema City is a bit gaudy and loud, but it hosts a good variety of restaurants as well as an excellent cinema center. Parking underground is plentiful and, for now, free.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated in muted wood tones, and it effectively blocks out the raucous ambience outside its doors. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. We came for a late night meal after viewing a movie, and limited ourselves to the Moses classic hamburger, 200 gram size. To wash it down, we had draft beer.

The hamburger was tasty and served as we requested, medium rare on a whole wheat bun, with condiments on the side. It seemed a long time in coming, which might have bothered us if we weren't so involved in conversation with friends about the movie we just saw together.

Our friendly and attentive waiter (a rarity in Israeli restaurants today) returned on more than one occasion to ask if everything was fine, if the food was good and, of course, if we wanted anything else. When we completed our meal, we were given, on the house, hot water with "nana" leaves to refresh our palates. We felt that we couldn't do the drink justice without a chocolate dessert. The chocolate cake with ice cream we ordered lived up to our expectations -- the cake was of a pleasant consistency, very rich in chocolate and delicious.

While we enjoyed this meal very much (good food, good atmosphere, above average service), the food was a little on the pricey side. The hamburger cost over NIS 60, and it came with no fries or salad. At the adjacent King George restaurant, for NIS 40 you can get a similar hamburger, French fries and salad. I felt that the atmosphere and service at Moses were superior to that we encountered on our previous visits to King George, though I'm not sure that the difference in price is justified. On the other hand, it does ensure a more selective clientele.

Moses is a relatively new addition to the variety of kosher restaurants in Cinema City. We found some of the food to be excellent, some to be good to very good, and some to be ok. I'll say that nothing we had was bad. What I would highly recommend are the chicken wings (they're not crispy because they aren't fried, but they have a great sweet/tangy/mildly spicy sauce), the hamburgers, and the Donut Trio for dessert. The Donut Trio was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The donuts were clearly freshly fried, they had the perfect crunchiness, fluffiness, and taste, and it came topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

The ambiance was really nice, the food was reasonably priced, but the service (while friendly) was unfortunately slow. It's too bad, because if the service was good i would have given the place 5 stars.

I'll definitely return. It's a great family place for dinner.
