Perfection!

Staff was suburb. My boyfriend was sick and they even offered to run to a pharmacy to get him medicine! Their kindness touched my heart.

They speak English very well! We needed taxis almost daily during or week’s stay, and they came in about 5 minutes of the request.

Breakfast – Plentiful and varied. They even make individual made-to-order omelets.

The atmosphere is phenomenal. Just what you would expect in the old city. We were greeted with cold drinks, escorted to our room and they took excellent care of us. The staff is so warm and friendly. While you're there make sure to eat at the restaurant in the hotel (you get a discount for staying at the hotel).

If you are looking for modern, this is NOT the place for you. This is very old world, authentic. Full of culture and history. But Great Wi-Fi!

In our room daily was fresh bottled water, and fruit. While you're there, make sure to eat at the restaurant in the hotel (you get a discount for staying at the hotel).

We even received a gift when we left!

I have stayed in many hotels around the world but this hotel is on a whole other level. First and foremost, the staff are the most polite, helpful, professional, respectful and nice people you will ever meet! They are always willing to help and constantly assist to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The rooms, and entire hotel for that matter, have an authentic ambience full of culture and history. The rooms are comfortable and very clean! :)
Breakfast is made up of a traditional Middle Eastern breakfast as well as a variety Western dishes as well; all very fresh and tasty! The same can be said about Azzahra restaurant, which serves the best pizzas and pasta that could stand up against those in Napoli; and yes, I've been there so I know what I'm talking about! ;)
I have stayed in 4 other hotels in East Jerusalem and NONE of them come even close to the standard of Azzahra!
This is the third time I stay here and each and every time, my stay has been exceptional!
This isn't just the BEST choice, it's the ONLY choice!

This restaurant has a varied menu and includes everything from pizza (not recommended) to tajines and other middle eastern favourites. The food is tasty but they tend to give you far too much rice. The atmosphere is OK although a little cavernous.

It can be difficult to know exactly what you are getting when you book a locally owned hotel instead of a well known chain. The Azzarah exceeded our expectations and gave us a more authentic experience in Jerusalem. The location made it easy to walk to the Old City and important attractions. The staff was very helpful and professional. The breakfast was a healthy and hearty way to start the day. The restaurant offered a good menu, and was always busy with local patrons in the evening. Although the owner told us about planned renovations, the room was very comfortable, good internet connection, and lacked nothing for our comfort. Being there for a week, we saw people who work hard and who are dedicated to providing excellent service.

Room Tip: Room 2 has a nice balcony. Street noise and calls to prayer were an interesting part of the experience, but in the room, it was very quiet.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel for a few nights when traveling in Israel. The linens are a little dated but the rooms are clean have everything that you'd need. The staff is so friendly, we were greeted with cold drinks, escorted to our room and they took excellent care of us. Breakfast includes all the Middle Eastern veggies, yogurts, hummus, etc. plus breads and cereal for more Western tastes and a chef ready to make you fresh egg dishes. They are located 10 minutes from the Old City on a street with all kinds of shops and restaurants. While you're there make sure to eat at the restaurant in the hotel (you get a discount for staying at the hotel) which has some of the best pizza in Israel (as verified by ex pats we were visiting who would know). They also serve Palestinian food so you'll find something for everyone.
