Wonderful old Jerusalem hotel. Needs some TLC, but lots of atmosphere and history, very comfortable mattresses, superb (Palestinian) breakfast, great staff and - perhaps most importantly - home to the Azzahra Restaurant, which has the best pizza in town. A favourite!

This old-world hotel is located within walking distance to the Old Town of Jerusalem. The Palestinian atmosphere at the hotel and its restaurant was warm and courteous. The arab food was 'different' and very tasty.

This restaurant is in an unpromising turning off Al Zahra Street in East Jerusalem but is a great place to eat. The menu includes a good variety of pizzas alongside delicious Palestinian dishes and also a few pasta favourites. The staff are all very helpful. At times the restaurant gets very busy so service times slow down, but the food is well worth waiting for. The restaurant also serves a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. The meals are good value for money. We ate there three times last week and were very happy each time.

This hotel in East Jerusalem is located within (short) walking distance of the Old City as well as amenities such as pharmacy, groceries, book shop, newstands, and bus/taxi stations. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The lovely restaurant serves good pizza as well as traditional Palestinian food for lunch and dinner. Alcoholic drinks are available, not a problem. Breakfast (included with room) is a buffet of traditional and western items plus made-to-order omelettes. The atmosphere inside the hotel is very relaxed and peaceful, as there are only about a dozen guest rooms. Interior of the hotel is quite beautiful. Rooms are modest but clean and with good amenities, such as wifi, tv, fridge, kettle (with tea and instant coffee), and big bathroom with good water pressure. Rooms above the restaurant can be noisy at night, but these rooms are nice and big, and two of them have lovely balconies. We will definitely return to Azzahra.

Room tip: Ask for what you want when you reserve (e.g. balcony, quiet, twin beds, etc.).

I spent 10 days in the Azzahra hotel on a work trip. The hotel staff were so warm and lovely, that it felt like home for 10 days and not at all like a hotel. Every staff member is helpful, kind and accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located close to the old city and a main shopping street. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and they really do serve the best pizza ever! the breakfast spread was great - with a great combination of local home made dishes and a continental spread. I will definintely be returning to Palestine and I'll be staying at Azzahra!
